RIP KURT BEAT HERZOG (snr)
7/01/1945 to 20/10/2024
Oupa Kurt,
Today, at 5:14 AM, I received the most heartbreaking news, β you have passed, and you are no longer with us. Those word broken me and all i wanted to say its not true. My heart aches, and I want you to know how much I will miss you. I have never been prouder to be a Herzog, because you were a Herzog, not just my grandfather; you were GREAT man and a true gentleman.
I will cherish the memories of our trip to Switzerland, our holidays away and playing card filled with laughter and your unique sense of humor. Your jokes, some of which were not always funny but were still endearing, brought so much joy to our lives. I can still hear me asking, βHow does the food taste?β and responding with your classic line, βLike a broken arm.β Those moments will forever bring a smile to my face.
You were always there for us, a constant source of support and love. You were the best grandfather, father, and husband anyone could ask for. Your dedication to our family and your friends was truly inspiring. I aspire to be half the man you were, embodying the love and respect you showed to everyone around you.
Your love for your wife and the way you treated the family will always be a guiding light for me. You showed me what it means to respect someone without knowing them from a bar of soap.Thank you for being such a remarkable role model and for instilling values that I will carry with me throughout my life.
I will forever miss you, Oupa Kurt. Your legacy will live on in our hearts, and I am grateful for every moment we shared.
With all my love,
KURT BEAT HERZOG (jnr)
P.S. Just so that you should know i did shave my beard recently and thought of you always telling me to shave. I love you so much Oupa.
