A few of the loyal D4d steeds we've helped on their way to greatness over the past year or two, there is definitely a large correlation to the injector wear and bad power with these older model D4d's!!
With the diminishing power levels comes bad fuel consumption which can be expected with Turbo diesel vehicles... To explain the efficiency of modern turbo diesel engines we have to solely look at the fuel injectors as they control fuel, timing and response of the vehicle!!
Atomizing diesel isn't difficult but there's almost always an incomplete burn of diesel especially at lower pressures and temperatures and this is why aging vehicles benefit so substantially from our ECU remapping as we account for the more inefficient injectors and spray patterns, boosting fuel pressures aiding in a massive improvement in an engines volumetric efficiency and complete burn of diesel on each engine cycle and this is how we improve power so substantially but still achieve better fuel consumption!!
It's knowledge like this we also openly share to cut the stigma that has been associated with remapping vehicles and its normally because people all assume plug & play chips fall into the same category!! As much as the chips may improve power levels, they negate a lot of sensor readings and important adaptations, corrections and adjustments the factory ECU continuously does!!
This is why ECU remapping reigns Supreme!!

FORD 2.2TDCI ENGINE PERFECTION!!

Below we see a client with 1 size bigger BFG that has absolutely killed his fuel consumption, drivability and gearbox calibration!!
Achieving over 13L/100km and now down below 10.5L/100km we already have a happy client!!

⬇️⬇️ This is why!! ⬇️⬇️

I implore each and every Ford Ranger and Ford Everest owner to get in contact with us for at very least the removal of the restrictor plate in the exhaust!!

An absolute killer of power and fuel consumption that's been added to mimic the exhaust restriction from a Catalytic converter!!

The 2.2 engine range has got NO CATALYTIC CONVERTER!!

This now allows them to have a far better and more free flowing exhaust system that was causing issues to the Euro tuned Ecu's making the vans too close to the 3.2 in performance and sometimes they would over boost due to the lack of back pressure and limp mode would kick in as the Ecu saw this as a mechanical issue!!

With even a mild remap for economy or our much loved Stage 1+ system we delete the horrible EGR valve and we get these vans to perform so well that every client is blown away by the performance and many clients achieve 1000km on a single tank of diesel!!

UNBELIEVABLE!! 😎

Constant development on these latest models of Hilux 2.4GD6 & 2.8GD6 mean we have ever improving results with many different options of tunes available!!
Power orientated remapping is available but the Economy mapping being the focus for the majority of vehicles we do means we offer and 50/50 package that keeps air fuel ratios nice and lean at around 20:1 with perfectly fine tuned mapping that improves over stock in every possible way!!
On Turbo Diesel engines a lean air fuel ratio is very healthy and cooler running while also extracting slightly more power from each engine cycle by burning the diesel more thoroughly.
This means more power while using less fuel... If this isn't a win win scenario then I'm not sure what is!!

AMAROK V6 DPF EGR + 190KW TUNE

Often clients are concerned with the longevity of the engine and gearbox on many of the Euro models of vehicles that already make decent power.

The Amarok V6 for instance is an absolute BEAST!! By far the most powerful and fastest bakki on the market but they are prone to EGR and especially DPF issues.

With the DPF blocked and causing an issue on this higher mileage V6 Amarok we decided on the 190kw factory tune on the older spec model which is the identical engine and drive train!!

The vans response, power and fuel consumption are all massively improved and no more issued with engine faults and dirty gasses recirculating from the EGR which we blank off too!!
