This is a beautiful example of a vintage 1950s Montblanc "Masterpiece" fountain pen.

Key Features: The cap band engraving reads "MASTERPIECE" instead of the typical German "Meisterstück".

This indicates the pen was manufactured specifically for export to the Anglosphere and North American markets during the 1950s.

The Nib Engravings: The bi-color gold nib features the iconic "4810" stamp (representing the height of Mont Blanc in meters), sitting above the Montblanc logo envelope "M" and the 14C gold purity hallmark.

Era Construction: Pens from this generation were meticulously crafted from celluloid rather than modern precious resin.

They are highly celebrated by collectors for their incredibly smooth, expressive, and flexible writing characteristics.

Taking a step back to the 1950's with this rare and Iconic Pelikan NN400 in Green stripped finish.

The Pelikan 400NN is considered an icon because it represents the final, most refined form of Pelikan’s original 400 line, the design language that later became the template for the modern M400 Souverän when Pelikan restarted high-end fountain-pen production in 1982. In other words, it is not just an old Pelikan; it is one of the key pens that defined what a “classic Pelikan” looks like.

Günther Wagner was the man who took over the company in 1871 and developed the Pelikan brand identity. Pelikan’s own history says he designed the Pelikan trademark based on his family coat of arms, and the company long traded under the Günther Wagner name before “Pelikan” became the dominant brand name people focused on.
