In Part 6, the final part of our Technical Inspection series, our DEKRA technician completes the rear undercarriage and suspension assessment before examining the wheel, tyre and braking components.

What can the underside of a vehicle reveal about its condition?

In Part 4 of our Technical Inspection series, our DEKRA technician examines the belly plate, exhaust system, heat shields, side seals and rear suspension.

The inspection found:

• No visible oil leakage on the belly plate

• The exhaust system in good condition

• Heat shields secure and intact

• Side seals in sound condition

• Rear suspension secure and sound

A slight sign of oil seepage was visible in a covered area and will be recorded in the inspection report. As covers are not dismantled during a standard inspection, the finding is clearly reported for further attention.

The tyre was only the beginning. Now, we look beneath the surface.

In Part 2 of our Technical Inspection series, a DEKRA technician examines the vehicle’s right-hand suspension and braking components, from the shocks, control arms, ball joint and bushes to the tie rod, steering rack, brake disc, pads and rim.

The findings? No visible leaks, cracks or damage. No ridge on the brake disc, and the brake pads still have sufficient thickness. Because a proper vehicle inspection goes beyond what you can see at a glance.
