🚛 Sharing the Road — What Every Driver Needs to Know! 🚗

South African roads can be unpredictable — especially when you're sharing them with trucks, minibus taxis and buses. Here's how to stay safe around larger vehicles: 👇

🚛 Around Trucks:
⚠️ Never cut in front of a truck — they need up to 3x the stopping distance of a car
👁️ Stay out of their blind spots (if you can't see their mirrors, they can't see you!)
🔄 Give them extra space when turning — trucks make wide turns!
⏳ Be patient when overtaking — wait for a long, clear stretch of road

🚌 Around Minibus Taxis:
🛑 Expect sudden stops — always keep a safe following distance
🚪 Watch for passengers getting in and out unexpectedly
🔦 Stay alert at taxi ranks and busy intersections
😤 Don't react to aggression — just drive defensively

Most drivers see road signs every day but don't always know exactly what they mean. Here's a quick refresher! 👇

⚠️ Yellow warning signs = Hazard ahead — slow down & be alert
🔴 Red & white signs = Prohibitions — these are the law, no exceptions!
🔵 Blue signs = Mandatory instructions — you MUST follow these
🟢 Green signs = Information & direction — guides you on your route
⬛ Black & white signs = Speed limits & regulations

🧠 Fun fact: In South Africa, failing to obey a road sign can cost you a fine — AND points on your licence!
