Leadership Transition at Bosal

As of July 1, 2026, Elisabeth Bos has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Karel Bos, who retires after more than four decades of dedication to the company.

Throughout his career, Karel Bos has played a pivotal role in shaping Bosal’s transformation into a global industrial company, guiding the organization through both challenging and defining periods.

With Elisabeth Bos taking over as CEO, Bosal continues its long-standing tradition of family leadership into the seventh generation—ensuring continuity, stability, and a strong long-term vision.

🏃‍♂️ Going the Extra Mile – On and Off the Track

At Bosal, we believe dedication, perseverance, and commitment go beyond the workplace — and our colleague Jaco Plooy from Bosal Afrika (PTY) Ltd is a perfect example of that spirit.

Last week Jaco took on one of the world’s most demanding challenges: the Comrades Marathon, the iconic 87 km ultramarathon in South Africa.

Preparing for this race requires months of discipline, careful planning, and resilience — balancing intense training (up to 50–80 km per week) with work and personal life.

What drives him?

Our very own Jaco du Plooy is taking on the Comrades Marathon 2026 — one of the toughest ultramarathons in the world. 🏃‍♂️💥

87km.
Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
Months of sacrifice, discipline, and pure grit.

And Jaco? He’s ready.
