The 3.0 D4D engine in this Hilux is one of Toyota's most respected diesels, and at 98,000 km it's barely broken in. Running costs are predictable, parts are everywhere, and fuel consumption on a long highway run is genuinely reasonable for a 4x4 double cab of this size.

If you're covering serious kilometres for work or leisure, that matters. This is the Heritage Edition, which already puts it a step above a standard Hilux, but what really sets this bakkie apart is the collection of aftermarket upgrades fitted to it. The previous owner spent well over R100,000 building this into a capable off-road and overland machine. You're getting a De Graaf stainless steel exhaust, Tough Dog adjustable suspension, Stofpad rock sliders and belly plate, a Bosbumper 84-litre extended fuel tank (a serious asset when you're heading into the bush), a Predator roof rack, Takla seat covers, and moulded mats throughout.
