A serious 4x4 brake upgrade needs to do more than look good behind the wheel.
It needs to survive rocks, mud, water crossings, dust, corrugations, heavy loads, larger tyres and long-distance overland travel.
That is why Powerbrake X-Line calipers are purpose-built for harsh 4x4 environments.
Our calipers feature internal fluid crossovers, removing exposed external pipes that can be damaged by rocks, sticks or trail debris.
They also feature recessed bleed screws, helping to protect critical service points during off-road use, wheel changes and workshop handling.
We also use internal wiper seals, eliminating the typical external dust boot failure often seen in harsh 4x4 environments. External dust boots can be damaged by heat, mud, stones and debris, whereas our internal seal design is better protected inside the caliper body.
Add to that CNC-machined billet aluminium construction, stainless steel pistons and a rigid fixed-caliper design, and you get a brake caliper engineered for far more than just appearance.
Just as importantly, we do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Each Powerbrake caliper is engineered with a vehicle-specific piston ratio, matched to the vehicle’s brake booster and hydraulic system. This is critical for maintaining correct pedal feel, brake balance and the proper functioning of safety systems such as ABS.
This is not a generic performance caliper adapted to fit a 4x4.
