In an attempt to meet global requirements and to ensure their engines are compatible with every country's regulations, climate, fuel quality and other specific conditions, limits are placed on power, performance and other settings. This means that there is great potential in the engine which needs to be unlocked; this is done by remapping the ECU. Chip tuning is the process of modifying (remapping) the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and changing the default parameters and there are many advantages to doing this:
