TOYOTA HILUX 2.8 GD6 LEGEND 50 AUTO 4X2
A technical post giving you as the end user informative data based on some of the hardware and tuning options we provide.
We have 3 dyno graphs attached . All power shown is at the wheels and not flywheel / crank.
1. Stock tune with our upgraded TW42MM STAINLESS STEEL TURBULAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD. You will noticed a slight bump up in power by 2.6WKW & A slight bump down in torque at the peak spike by -5.7NM. The reason for the loss in torque is due to the fact that the stock cast iron manifold is more compact which allows the velocity of gas to spool the turbo faster on the initial get go , however dont be fooled into thinking its a real loss in torque because if you look closely you will notice that its only on the initial spike however from 2500rpm to 3000rpm its actually holding the torque higher than stock which proves that it flows better than stock and is more efficient, it also shows that cylinder to cylinder flow is improved. Along with this you have the strength of the upgraded manifold not warping or leaking over time . Its a more robust and permanent solution over stock.
2. The 2nd graph shown is with our TW42MM STAINLESS STEEL TURBULAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD & OUR BOLT ON MANDREL BENT TW76MM DOWNPIPE & FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM while still running on a stock map. This is pretty straight forward showing gains of 7.3WKW & 16.5NM telling us how restrictive the stock downpipe and exhaust actually in.
3. And lastly we have the 3rd graph with our TW42MM STAINLESS STEEL TURBULAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD & TW76MM BOLT ON MANDREL BENT CATLESS DOWNPIPE AND FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM + OUR TWS2 BESPOKE ECU + AUTO GEARBOX REMAP. This is now the full shebang , we're missing an intercooler upgrade in terms of hardware which is optional but this set up is ready for action . With gains of 42.8WKW & 121.9NM at the rear wheels thats going to transform your bakkie into a whole new experience. While safety and reliability is our main concern, we keep the smoke levels low and make sure everything is in check. Your good to go and your gearbox is tuned too so your driving experience is flawless. Hardcut limiter is optional if you're feeling naughty.
