A Statement from BMW Enthusiasts
To the two gentlemen who somehow managed to mistake owning an M2 for earning a personality…
We’d just like to make it clear that you do not represent the BMW community.
BMW has never been about looking down on people. It’s about dreams. It’s about engineering. It’s about the first time you heard an inline-six sing its way to redline. It’s about saving for years to own the car you always had on your bedroom wall. It’s about the friendships, road trips, track days, and the passion that unites complete strangers through a shared love of driving.
A security guard doing his job deserves respect—whether he’s opening the gate for an M2, a 316i, or a taxi.
We don’t blame these two for stumbling across enough money to buy what was probably the most affordable M2 they could find. Unfortunately, a BMW key doesn’t automatically unlock class, humility, or manners. Those still have to be earned.
The badge on the bonnet doesn’t make you important. Your character does.
Real BMW enthusiasts know that every mechanic, security guard, car washer, petrol attendant, and fellow enthusiast is part of what makes the motoring community special.
So, on behalf of the BMW community: we’ll keep chasing apexes, enjoying the sound of straight-sixes, arguing about manuals versus automatics, and waving at fellow enthusiasts. You two can keep practising how to be decent human beings.
Remember: anyone can buy a BMW. Not everyone deserves to represent what it stands for.
