WHY A LIFT KIT IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST HEIGHT!
BUILT TO CONQUER. BUILT FOR THE RUGGED.
Lifting your 4x4 isn't just about a tougher stance, bigger tyres or increased ground clearance. A properly engineered suspension lift is about improving capability while maintaining safe handling, predictable steering and correct suspension geometry.
Here's something every 4x4 owner should understand: when you lift your vehicle, you change the angles and operating positions of its suspension components. That's why choosing the right lift kit and correcting the geometry where necessary are so important.
π₯ 1. CORRECT SUSPENSION GEOMETRY
Your suspension arms, ball joints, steering linkages and other components are designed to operate within specific ranges.
When the vehicle is lifted, these components sit at different angles. Depending on the suspension design and lift height, this can affect wheel alignment, steering response and suspension movement.
The correct geometry correction components help restore the intended operating angles where possible.
π₯ 2. CASTER β STRAIGHT-LINE STABILITY
Caster plays an important role in steering stability and the steering wheel's ability to return to centre after a turn.
A suspension lift can reduce positive caster on many independent front suspension vehicles. If it isn't corrected where necessary, your vehicle may feel less stable, wander on the highway or require constant steering corrections.
π₯ 3. CAMBER & TOE β PROTECT YOUR TYRES
Camber determines the inward or outward tilt of the wheels, while toe determines whether the wheels point slightly inward or outward relative to each other.
Lifting can change both angles. Incorrect settings can cause uneven or premature tyre wear, poor tracking and compromised handling.
A professional wheel alignment after installation is essential.
π₯ 4. UPPER CONTROL ARMS β MORE ADJUSTMENT WHERE NEEDED
On suitable independent front suspension vehicles, adjustable or geometry-corrected upper control arms can provide additional alignment adjustment after lifting.
They can help achieve the required caster and camber settings when the original adjustment range is insufficient.
The correct arms must be matched to the vehicle, lift height and suspension design.
π₯ 5. REAR AXLE ALIGNMENT & DRIVELINE ANGLES
On vehicles with a live rear axle, lifting can alter axle positioning and suspension-link angles. An adjustable panhard bar can help reposition the axle laterally where required.
Depending on the vehicle and suspension design, trailing arms and other correction components may also be needed to maintain appropriate geometry and driveline operation.
π THE TOP TIGER APPROACH
At TopTiger Racing, we believe a quality suspension upgrade should be about more than appearance.
It's about selecting the correct components for your vehicle, achieving the intended ride height, checking suspension travel, correcting geometry where required and completing a professional wheel alignment.
Whether you're driving your GWM Tank 300, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max or another 4x4, the right setup makes a difference.
π₯ LIFT IT RIGHT. ALIGN IT RIGHT. DRIVE WITH CONFIDENCE.
Don't simply ask how high your vehicle can go. Ask whether the suspension geometry can be maintained at that height.
