🔧 BMW F10 530d (N57) — Tappet Cover Replacement & Rear Suspension Adjustment 🛠️👨‍🔧

Some jobs test your patience. This one won. 💪

This 253,000 km F10 530d came in for a tappet cover gasket replacement — until we discovered the Cylinder 2 injector was seized in place. What started as a straightforward job became a multi-day story.

🔧 The Stuck Injector:
- Cyl 2 injector confirmed stuck, customer briefed with photos
- Multiple tools tried, Heavy Duty tool sourced and the job was done ✅
- Injector out and sent for testing and reconditioning ✅

🛠️ Tappet Cover Replacement:
- Old cover out, mating surfaces cleaned
- Oil fill spout + cap transferred with fresh O-ring
- Fuel rail cleaned, all injector seats prepped with the seal cleaning tool
- New tappet cover installed and torqued to spec ✅

🔧 Injector Reinstall & Reassembly:
- Reconditioned injectors fitted with copper anti-seize, torqued to spec
- Common rail, fuel lines, wiring harness all refit
- Battery on charger for correct voltage before start
- Diesel fuel lines and injectors bled properly
- Engine started, leak check completed ✅

🔧 BMW F20 120i — Cooling System Repair & Suspension Check 🛠️👨‍🔧

Slow coolant leaks don’t show themselves. That’s why we brought the UV light. 👀

This F20 120i came in for a suspected cooling leak. Pressure test alone didn’t reveal anything — so we went deeper with UV dye tracing and found the slow leak coming from the water pump area.

🛠️ Water Pump Replacement:
- Charge pipe, dust covers, coolant hoses, sensor connectors and wiring stripped
- Heat management module removed for access
- Old water pump out, engine block mating surfaces cleaned
- New water pump fitted, auxiliary belt refit
- Heat management module and all hoses reinstalled

💧 Vacuum Fill & Verification:
- System vacuum-tested → held pressure, zero leaks ✅
- Vacuum-filled with fresh coolant
- Engine brought to temp with diagnostics live
- Fan operation and coolant/oil temps all verified normal
- Test drive completed the following day for final leak check ✅

🔍 Suspension Rattle:
- Rear rattle investigated on the test drive
- Rattle confirmed gone, suspension operating correctly ✅
