BYD is building out its finance arm, and it has brought in a familiar industry name to lead operations.

BYD Australia and New Zealand has appointed Paul Macey as head of operations at BYD Financial Services, with a brief to make financial services a competitive advantage for customers and dealers.

→ Macey joins from LSH Auto Australia, where he was head of strategy and financial services, after six years at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Australia, most recently as head of sales and marketing
→ His brief is keeping products "simple and accessible" while running campaigns that drive vehicle sales and customer retention
→ BYD Financial Services is recruiting across credit operations and compliance, serviceability and credit assessment, collections, and financial product development
→ He is after people who can drive dealer performance across a high volume, expansive dealer network

With BYD's sales growth, finance and dealer enablement capability is becoming a real battleground, and the talent competition for credit and dealer performance skills is following close behind.
