Currently we at G T Auto electrical are looking to for a skilled qualified auto electrician

Key responsibilities

• Able to work independent as well as part of a service team.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on various vehicles / machines
• Able to troubleshoot electrical issues and have impeccable problem solving skills
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members to explain issues, solutions, and repair options.
• Keep accurate records of all service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and parts usage.
• Manage and prioritize service tasks to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Willing to work after hours

Job requirements

• Valid Drivers license
• Clear criminal record
• Sober habits
• Good health
• Aircon experience will definitely be a huge advantage
• Provem work experience and at least 2 previous employers references
• Minimum 2 years post qualified experience with valid red seal trade certificate
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems
• Relevant certificationsor qualifications in automotive
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to work independently
• Works well in a team and mentor junior assistants
•Own tools is not essential however would be very advantageous.

Common causes that damage your vehicles battery or shorten it’s life span
1: temperature changes . Extreme cold / hot conditions will shorten a batteries life span
2: low electrolyte levels inside the battery. When your vehicle goes in for a service be sure to ask the technician to check the electrolyte levels ( some batteries are sealed and the electrolyte levels can’t be checked)
3: corrosion on the battery terminals
4: battery voltage dropping too low . Leaving the headlights on while the vehicle is off

How to jump start a car
1: take the red + clamp from the jumper cables and place it on the positive + terminal on the flat/dead battery
2: take the other red + clamp from the jumper cables and place it positive + terminal on the charged battery / vehicle
# now switch on the lights and heater fan inside the car with the flat battery ( doing this will prevent a surge going to the vehicles electronics)
3: take the black - clamp from the jumper cables and place it on the negative terminal on the charged battery/ vehicle
4: take the other black - clamp of the jumper cable and place it on bare metal ( the engine block )
5 : now you can start the vehicle with a flat battery
