Job Purpose:
To carry out professional surface preparation and spray-painting of heavy construction equipment, machinery, and components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet manufacturer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces of construction machinery and equipment (sanding, masking, priming, filling, cleaning).
Mix and match paints to achieve correct colour and finish.
Apply primers, undercoats, and topcoats using spray-painting equipment.
Ensure proper application of corrosion protection coatings.
Maintain spray guns, compressors, and related equipment in good working order.
Ensure correct storage, handling, and disposal of paints, solvents, and chemicals.
Work closely with mechanics and panel beaters on equipment repair and refurbishment.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards in all spray-painting activities.
Meet deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements:
Qualified Spray Painter (Trade Test / equivalent certification).
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in spray painting heavy equipment, trucks, or industrial machinery.
Knowledge of different paint systems (solvent-based, water-based, 2K, polyurethane, epoxy).
Experience with surface preparation, body filler, and panel repairs.
Understanding of health & safety procedures in paint application and workshop environment.
Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical spray-painting and finishing skills.
Good eye for detail, colour matching, and finish quality.
Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Team player with good communication skills.
