😱‼️BUS CONVERTION‼️😯 Surita Krüger

When our friends Henk and Su 👩❤️👨 told us more than two years ago they they wanted to sell their house, buy a bus and convert into a home for them and their 4 busy little kids, 👧👧🧒🧒 some were sceptical (yes even us). Maybe even thought they were crazy. 🫣 Lets face it, its such a MAMMOTH task to undertake. BUT they persevered into making their dream a reality.
And as Su and I were jumping up and down like two exited kids after I helped her stage and photograph their nearly completed bus for the FIX IT WITH FLAIR COMPETITION, - vote for them here https://fixit.tuis.co.za/entry/surita-kruger/ - laughing and almost crying at the awesomeness that is now their new house on wheels. She said to me "Do you realise I had this all in my head? This is our vision come true!" And what a sight for sore eyes she is: THE KRü BUS, named after the Krügers who now call her home.
A 1980 International bus, that used to be a mobile library in Brakpan, lovingly converted into a 6 sleeper mobile home. It has everything you need. Its completely solar powered, with a large fridge freezer, washing machine, composting toilet, drool-worthy 5-plate gas stove and oven in the kitchen and more! Its all lovingly dressed in an eclectic mix of beautiful Moroccan knick-knacks Su collected while living there years ago before she married Henk, to African shweshwe and Japanese tie-die. The curtains are made from the Chefchaouen fabric the older ladies wear around their shoulders in Morocco. The front dinette and driver seat is upholstered in local shweshe-materials with shweshwe scatter cushions. The dinette table displays the South African map they found in the bus when they bought it. Most of the beautiful woodwork, butcher block counters, beautiful finishes around the windows and more, done by Willem Prinsloo from Ekslusiewe Houtwerke in Ermelo.

Their housecat Chappies has made the transition to buscat seamlessly. Like he knows he adfs flair to the interior. While their rescue dog Glitter runs around outside with the kids. Everywhere you look is a "moment". But dont take my word for it. Have a look for yourself with these before and after pics.

The pantry needs some finishing woodwork touches on the shelves and the bus some paint touch-ups here and there. The outside paintjob is still a work in progress (know of anyone who can graffiti a bus?).
They plan to travel South Africa in their bus until they find a place where they want to settle somewhere on the South Coast. Read more about that on their page.
Krügers. Thank you for showing and inspiring us not to give up on your dreams. Thanks for being the lovely friends and people you are. And WELL DONE. Henk you worked SO HARD!!!
