This VW Golf Mk6R came through to L*D Tuning Durban dealing with a bouncing idle and persistent oil leaks that needed to be properly traced and resolved. 🛠️💨

We diagnosed:
⚠️ Erratic Idle Caused by Vacuum Leaks
⚠️ Damaged Tappet Cover with Torn and Broken Gaskets Causing Oil Leaks
⚠️ Oil Pickup Tube Clogged

After running a thorough diagnostic check and a vacuum leak test, we located and repaired the vacuum issues, and discovered a damaged tappet cover with torn and broken gaskets causing further vacuum loss and oil leaks.

🔧 Work carried out:
💨 Vacuum Leak Test & Necessary Repairs Completed
🔧 Tappet Cover Replaced with Brand New Gaskets All Around
🔧 Oil Pan removed to inspect and clean Oil Pickup Tube
🛢️ Complete Oil Service Performed
⚙️ Forge Diverter Valve Upgrade Fitted
🌬️ Custom 76mm Cold Air Intake System Installed
🧪 Final Diagnostics, System Checks & Road Tests Completed

Once the mechanical repairs were done and the new gaskets and components were settled in, the car was thoroughly checked again to confirm a smooth idle, zero leaks, and proper operation across the board. 👌
To top it all off, the customer opted to elevate the performance with a Forge Diverter Valve upgrade and a custom 76mm cold air intake system, letting this Mk6R breathe and perform the way it should! 😮‍💨🔥

Another Polo AW GTI in for some suspension troubleshooting at L*D Tuning Durban. 🔥

The customer had recently fitted coilovers, but ever since the installation he had been hearing unwanted noises from the suspension. Naturally, it left him questioning the coilover setup and put a bit of a damper on the whole experience. 😅

We got the vehicle in and carried out a proper inspection, where we diagnosed faulty saddle bearings and strut mounts.

🔧 WHAT WE DID:
✅ Diagnosed the suspension noises
✅ Replaced faulty saddle bearings
✅ Replaced faulty strut mounts
✅ Adjusted the strut links accordingly
✅ Checked the setup after repairs

Now it’s back on the road for smooth, safe and noise-free driving. 👌

Coilovers aren’t always the problem — sometimes it’s the supporting components around them that need attention. Proper diagnosis saves you from chasing the wrong issue. 🔍

Hopefully we’ll see this 2019 Polo AW GTI back soon for some further maintenance and upgrades. 🤝

This VW Polo 1.4 TSI GTI Twincharged came through to L*D Tuning Durban with a couple of diagnostic faults that needed to be properly traced and resolved. 🛠️💨

💻 DIAGNOSTICS FOUND:
⚠️ MAP Sensor – Circuit High Fault
⚠️ Incorrect Timing Correlation Fault

After tracing the faults, we found the MAP sensor wiring had been cut and damaged, causing the circuit-high fault.

🔧 WORK CARRIED OUT:

⚡ MAP Sensor Wiring Repaired
💻 MAP Sensor Circuit High Fault Cleared & Verified
⛓️ Engine Timing Checked
🔧 Timing Corrected – Found Approximately One Tooth Out
💻 Incorrect Timing Correlation Fault Cleared & Verified
💨 Complimentary Boost & Vacuum Leak Test
🔩 Necessary Boost/Vacuum Leaks Repaired
🧪 Final Diagnostics & System Checks Completed

Once the wiring was repaired and the timing was correctly set, both diagnostic faults were resolved and the vehicle was checked again to confirm everything was operating as it should. 👌

We also carried out a complimentary boost & vacuum leak test, finding and attending to the necessary leaks along the way.
