TOYOTA HILUX 2.4 GD-6 SUSPENSION REPAIR

🛻🔧 A Tough Bakkie Still Needs a Healthy Suspension.

This Toyota Hilux 2.4 GD-6 is in the VAG Automotive workshop having worn suspension and control-arm bushes replaced.

Bushes might not look like major components, but they play an important role in keeping the suspension properly located, absorbing vibration and maintaining predictable steering and handling.

As they deteriorate, you may start noticing:

⚠️ Knocking or clunking over bumps
⚠️ Loose or vague steering
⚠️ Excessive movement from the suspension
⚠️ Uneven or accelerated tyre wear
⚠️ Vehicle wandering or feeling unstable
⚠️ Changes in wheel alignment

Because bushes usually deteriorate gradually, it's easy to become accustomed to the way the vehicle feels and not realise how much the suspension has changed.

On this Hilux GD-6, the worn bushes were identified and are being replaced to restore the suspension and control arms to proper working condition.

A few things worth checking now:

🌡️ Cooling system — coolant level and condition, radiator, hoses, thermostat, water pump and cooling fans. A small cooling-system problem can quickly become an overheating problem when temperatures rise.

🔧🔥 **V6 AMAROK — OIL LEAKS FOUND. PROBLEMS SORTED.** 🔥🔧

When a **V6 Amarok** comes in with an oil leak, finding the source properly matters. Oil can travel across the engine and make it look like one leak when there may actually be **several areas requiring attention**.

On this Amarok, we traced the leaks and carried out extensive work to get things sorted properly:

🔧 **Tappet covers – both sides**
🔧 **Front crankshaft seal**
🔧 **Turbo work**
🔧 **EGR delete with downpipe**
🔧 **Oil leak in the V investigated and repaired**

The area in the **V of the engine** is particularly important on these V6 engines. A leak hidden there can accumulate before becoming obvious externally, which is why proper inspection and diagnosis is critical.

This wasn't a case of cleaning the engine and hoping for the best.

**Find the source. Strip what's necessary. Repair it properly. Recheck the vehicle.**
