🔧 SUZUKI SWIFT 1.2 – CAN A CLEAN THROTTLE BODY MAKE A DIFFERENCE? 📈
We recently worked on a Suzuki Swift 1.2, where we cleaned the throttle body and then put the vehicle on the dyno to see if the improvement could actually be measured.
Rather than relying on the “it feels better” test, we wanted to prove it on the dyno.
🔴 Before throttle body cleaning
Power: 66.3 kW @ 6,105 rpm
Torque: 114 Nm @ 4,419 rpm
🟢 After throttle body cleaning
Power: 69.4 kW @ 5,942 rpm
Torque: 119 Nm @ 4,839 rpm
That’s an improvement of:
✅ +3.1 kW
✅ +5 Nm
✅ Approximately 4.7% more peak power
✅ Approximately 4.4% more peak torque
And the interesting part?
No remap. No performance parts. No engine modifications.
Just a properly cleaned throttle body.
The dyno graph also shows that the improvement isn't simply about the peak number — the shape of the power and torque curves through the rev range is what really matters.
This is a great example of why proper maintenance can make a measurable difference to engine performance.
At Motordrive, we don't just say “it feels better” — we measure it. 💪🔧📊
