For Sale: 1975 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super is the iconic rear wheel drive classic sports sedan which was in production from 1965 to 1978. Alfa Romeo were one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful sports engine into a lightweight, 1,000 kg four-door car, essentially creating one of the first sport sedans

For the late 1960s, its performance was astonishing. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super was powered by a 1600cc 4-cylinder light alloy twin cam engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and could hit a top speed of 170 km/h, outperforming many standalone sports cars of its era. In addition, it was the first production car developed in a wind tunnel

Today it is sought after by collectors due to its relevance in creating the sport sedan segment and its enjoyable ride and performance.

The fifth generation of the Mercedes Benz SL, known as the R 230 series, was in production from 2002 to 2011. It saw the introduction of the metal folding roof and was a powerful, luxurious and high specification addition to the Mercedes Benz range

The Mercedes Benz SL600 is a V12 powered roadster that offers a level of engineering and craftsmanship that is rarely seen today. Power comes from the legendary 493 BHP 5.5 liter twin turbocharged V12 engine, paired with a smooth 5 speed automatic transmission.

The SL600 was known for effortless power delivery, huge torque and a driving experience that blended luxury with serious performance. Variable height suspension gives the car a controlled, composed ride, and the chassis remains one of the great achievements of Mercedes engineering from the early 2000s.

Even at low speeds, the SL600 feels substantial and confident, with that unmistakable V12 smoothness. It will deliver a performance that still equals sports cars to this day, and it will sound better than nearly all of them thanks to the symphony of cylinders

In 1961, John Cooper, a successful Formula 1 racing car constructor, noted the potential of the Mini as a performance car. He gave the 850cc engine a longer stroke, twin SU carburetors, front disc brakes and a closer ratio gearbox. The Mini Cooper was born which went on to win numerous international races including the Monte Carlo rally three times. More powerful Cooper S models were introduced too which saw success in closed circuit motor racing. The appeal as a performance car was enhanced when three Mini Cooper’s starred in the Italian Job movie

For Sale: 1972 Porsche 911 T - RS Replica

The Porsche 911 has been a motoring icon in production since 1964. It first featured a 2.0l rear mounted “Flat 6” air cooled engine paired to a 5-speed dogleg gearbox with the basic concept and DNA remaining virtually unchanged to date.

This Example:
This car originally left the factory late in 1971 but is described by Porsche as a 1972 “manufacture year” 911T. This Johannesburg car was rebuilt as an RS replica roughly 20 years ago by John Abbot. It was later then upgraded with engine/gearbox from a 1985 car - a “hot” 3.2L engine and running gear. This gives unparalleled reliability and a bullet-proof quality to the car, plus the benefit of loads of torque. The car has a relaxed mood or can become an edgy drive depending on what you want on the day.

Essentially this isn’t a single car. It is a compilation of many of the best elements of early 911s, mainly from 1967 – 1973 which the current owner has curated based on his pursuit of the ultimate driving enthusiasts classic Porsche.

Homage features to early 911 racers include:
- Lightweight bucket seats as per the famous original 911R and 911ST
- RS rear wheel flares/arches – per RS to accommodate larger 8 inch wheels, front are 7 inch.
- Rear 8 inch Minilite wheels – as per 911ST
- Cibie Pallas lights – as per early competition cars.
- Abarth style steering wheel – as per original 911R.
- RS rear “ducktail” – as 1973 RS
- Competition harnesses, with reproduction “Repa” branding – as per many early competition cars.
- Lightweight gear k**b – homage to the 917
- Front strut brace – as per early competition cars.
- Side decals - as per “advertising” on early competition cars.
