Alu-Cab: Ultimate Overland Products ALU-CAB – MAKE IT BETTER
Proudly South African 🇿🇦 Alu-Cab Cape Town (H/O) opened its doors in 2000 as a small canopy manufacturing business.

It focused on designing practical, high quality, custom built aluminium canopies for the off-road market. The company has grown from building the very first aluminium canopy to a full swing manufacturing plant catering to the world market. It is with great pride that we can proclaim that Alu-Cab has become a worldwide brand. WHAT THE COMPANY DOES

Alu-Cab is one of the world’s few, if not the only Overland Product Manufacturer that offers a complete solution in various formats that allow fitment centres, around the world to offer complete turnkey solutions utilizing one brand. Innovation is our drive.

In late 2025, I was notified that my job was taking me to Alaska, a destination I’d dreamed of visiting for over 15 years.

So I packed up my home in Colorado and headed north...

The graffiti said "locals only".

But in the ultimate surf rig, every spot feels as welcoming as your home break.

This is what the ModCAP Camper with Tailgate was built for. Watch the waves while sitting on the tailgate, with coffee on the boil, preparing for another unforgettable session.

The best accessory? The one that was already there.

A ModCAP Camper with Tailgate lets you keep your OEM tailgate intact so that you can make it work harder than ever before.

Stand on it to open the camper. Drop it down and it’s a shelf. Use it as your coffee bar. Or take a seat and take in another perfect sunset.

No extras needed. Use what you have and make it work harder.

ModCAP is a modular camper solution that grows with you. And the ModCAP Base with Tailgate is the next chapter.

Because not everyone who wants a camper is willing to give up their tailgate.

The weekend warrior hauling every toy to camp. The tradie who still needs the truck to do truck things Monday morning. The sports fan tailgating in the stadium lot.

Keep your tailgate. Keep your truck. Keep the benefits of a camper.

ModCAP is a Canopy Camper that you decide what you want it to be.

It’s modular, so build it your way and kit it out according to how you’ll actually use it.

Choose a Base, select your Camper and add accessories.

Whether you want a full rear door or to retain your tailgate, windows or solid panels, sleeping two or cruising squad deep – there’s a setup for that.

Ready to build yours? Find your dealer at the link in bio to start the conversation.

After two years on the road, Micah Uchida's LT-50 rooftop tent has earned its keep.

Snow in Wyoming, desert storms in Arizona and everything in between.

Having recently pointed his 4Runner towards Alaska, he's now exploring his new neighborhood. Give him a follow to see where his rig takes him next.

Having spent a year living out of their Defender, we caught up with Mitch and Martha who recently drove down to Cape Town from the UK.

Watch a walk through of their Icarus roof Conversion and explore every inch of how they’ve turned their Defender into the ultimate home on wheels.

From sleeping and cooking to storage and shower setup, nothing in their rig is there by accident. Everything has earned its place through hundreds of days on the road, and it shows.

Follow for their daily updates and to see what being built for the journey actually looks like when the journey never stops.
