Emmanuel Vuma - Secretary

My name is Emmanuel Vuma. Throughout my life, I have seen firsthand the profound impact that acts of kindness and compassion can have on those who are struggling. I have also come to understand that serving others is not only a way to make a positive difference in the world, but it is also a deeply spiritual practice that brings us closer to God.

My current work involves serving as a house parent in a Transitional Home for people who are in recovery from homelessness and drug abuse. The impact of my involvement inspires myself and people around me to get involved in the work of service.

One of the most beautiful things about serving others is that it can take so many different forms. It can be as simple as volunteering at a soup kitchen or donating clothes to a shelter. It can also be as complex as dedicating your life to humanitarian work in a poverty struck country like South Africa. No matter how big or small the act of service may seem, it is always a way to spread love and light into the world.

I believe that helping people in need is also a way to connect with our own humanity. When we see the suffering of others and feel moved to help, we are tapping into our own capacity for empathy and compassion. This is a fundamental part of who we are as human beings, and when we use these qualities to serve others, we are connecting with the divine within ourselves.

Ultimately, I believe that serving others is the best way to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. It is a way to make a positive impact on the world, to connect with others on a deep level, and to grow spiritually."

"My name is Marvin Kiewitz, Chairman of Gear To Grow. I have always had the passion and desire to help the unfortunate/ underprivileged cause we just don't know there story and how things have come about. The ministry of Jesus Christ has always been my vocal point to find out how I could help others. I've been serving in the ministry part time since 2011. I had my own Driving School for more then 6 years. I'm fully involved on a Committee of three creches since 2018 that fall under one NPO no. Being involved in these creches has change my life tremendously seeing the joy it brings little kids by walking in an environment where they feel safe and protected with loving teachers comforting them. I truly believe in the statement: 'when you have give to others cause when you never had, someone reached out to give you' ."

"My name is Mike Clark, CEO of Geared to Grow and this is my wife Debbie, one of the Directors.
Since the early 80's we participated in ministry among the Philippi farm workers who were the poorest of the poor. We shared the gospel of Jesus Christ, attended to their physical needs which included food , clothing and medical. Later the Lord led us into a ministry of serving the homeless. This incorporated drug addicts in recovery, those who had served time in prison, alcoholics and some were engaged in prostitution. I am a certified driving instructor in code 08 and 10. For a few years I have been engaged in training people to gain their licences in code 08 driving, and I'm passionate about up-skilling and job creation. Many of my past clients have been successful and moved on to secure working environments and are now contributing to the economy."
