The world is a big place that poses incredibly rough challenges for motorcycle gear. As seasoned adventurers, we have literally been around the block and got that t-shirt. So we know the abuse motorcycles and t

he gear we ride with have to withstand during those excursions in remote locations. The Turkana range of gear will safely carry your stuff, no matter the level of outrageousness of your trip. Travis and Chantil aka ViajarMoto are back on their trusty KLRs
crisscrossing the USA and once again finding the kind of places that make you want to drop whatever you’re doing and go ride.

This time they’re up at Beartooth Pass, one of those properly spectacular roads where the riding is only half the story. Big mountains, endless views, twisty roads and plenty of interesting little places along the way. These two have a knack for finding the groovy, quirky and lesser-known corners wherever they travel.

That’s what we enjoy about following their travels. It’s not just about ticking off destinations or chasing kilometres. They take their time, explore, meet people and somehow always seem to stumble across something worth sharing.

They’ve been travelling with Turkana gear for quite a few years now, including plenty of riding through Mexico and the USA. Hanging off those well-travelled KLRs are their HippoHips saddlebags and Duffalo wide mouth waterpriif duffels, looking suitably dusty and doing what they’ve always done.

Definitely worth giving ViajarMoto a follow if you enjoy proper motorcycle travel with a healthy dose of curiosity. 😁🏍️

Michel’s Honda Transalp adv motorcycle is no garage ornament or pavement princess. This thing gets used. Gnarly tracks, muddy detours, old dirty little roads and the occasional bit of mischief are all part of how he rolls.

Michel is from the Netherlands and he’s one of those riders who sees a perfectly good road, then spots some dodgy little track disappearing off into nowhere and thinks, bu**er the good road, I’m hitting that.

And that’s really what adventure riding should be about, ain’t it? Being curious, going exploring and getting mildly lost.

Finding weird places you never knew existed, stopping somewhere for coffee, chatting to random people and coming home with a story instead of just kilometres on the clock.

There’s something wonderfully whimsical about riding like that. You don’t need to cross Mongolia while wrestling a yak to have an adventure. Sometimes you just need a bike, a free Sunday, enough curiosity and a healthy adventure spirit to go make some epic memories.

Michel has also been using his Turkana luggage for a long time. Not posing-with-it long. Proper using-it long. Dust, mud, rain, straps pulled tight, bags thrown around and plenty of gnarly kilometres later, it’s still hanging off the Transalp doing what it was made to do.

That’s exactly how we like seeing Turkana Gear. Weathered, dusty, slightly scruffy and carrying some battle scars. Luggage with stories is infinitely more interesting than luggage that still smells like the factory.

They told me to get my head checked. So I did.
Seems perfectly normal to me.

Some people see motorcycles as transport. We see places we haven’t been yet, roads we probably shouldn’t take, and a perfectly reasonable excuse to disappear for a few days.

That same slightly groovy thinking is behind Turkana Gear. We make motorcycle luggage for people who actually use their bikes to go somewhere. Tough, modular, repairable gear made in South Africa, designed to take the knocks, dust, mud and occasional whimsical moments that come with travelling on two wheels.

There might not be a cure. At least you can pack properly.😆
