In everyday life, it is almost nothing.

In karting, it can be the space between two positions, the difference between getting alongside or staying behind, and the tiny margin a driver spends lap after lap trying to find.

That is the thing about racing. The gaps can look small on a timing screen, but on track, every fraction counts.

0.2 seconds doesn’t sound like much. Until it’s the gap.

Club Round #8 is coming to iDube Raceway on 25 October, where those little margins will matter all over again.

From the outside, it is easy to see a kart, a helmet and a few laps of the track.

From the driver’s seat, it is completely different.
Every change in grip.
Every bump through the steering wheel.
Every braking point.
Every decision made while everything is happening quickly around you.

That is part of what makes karting such a demanding sport. It looks simple until you understand just how much the driver is processing every second.

You do not just drive the kart.
You feel everything.

School holidays have officially reached the “I’m bored” stage. 😅

Fortunately, there are worse ways to spend a day than with engines running, karts on track and something a little more exciting than another afternoon on the couch.

Whether karting is already part of the family routine or you are simply curious to see what happens at iDube, the school holidays are a pretty good excuse to come down and experience it.

Fresh air. Track action. Plenty to watch.

And hopefully, significantly less “Muuum, I’m bored.”
