*🚨 URGENT WARNING: Vehicle Theft & Jamming Spikes on First Day of School – January 14, 2026! 🚨*

Parents and guardians in Sasolburg and across South Africa – as you drop off your precious little ones at school today, stay extra vigilant!

Criminals are taking advantage of the busy school drop-off zones. There are already reports of *remote jamming* (where thieves block your car's central locking signal so it doesn't actually lock), laptops and valuables stolen from vehicles, and even full vehicle thefts or hijackings happening in *under 2 minutes* while you're distracted saying goodbye or helping your child.

School areas are prime targets because drivers are often focused on their kids and the chaos around them – exactly what thieves count on.

*Quick safety tips to protect yourself and your vehicle:*
- *Physically check* your doors and boot after pressing the remote – don't just trust the beep!
- Never leave laptops, bags, phones, or any valuables visible inside the car. Hide them in the boot *before* arriving, or take them with you.
- Park in well-lit, busy spots if possible, and avoid isolated areas.
- If your car has a *GPS tracker*, make sure it's active and you know who has access to the tracking info (only trusted providers or family).
- Stay alert – if something feels off, get back to your car quickly or ask for help.

This crime happens fast – don't become a statistic today!
