**mk1 Dub** Its a group of individuals that share the same love for this particular Volkswagen mk1 (golf, fox, caddy).

Making a positive difference in our community,be role models to our children & youth and by trying to change the negative mindset of the community about car clubs, modified cars and their drivers. In the month of September 2012 in a small town outside of Cape Town down the West Coast called Atlantis, few guys from Atlantis and Mamre came together and had their first meeting as a Volkswagen mk1 clu

b. We started just as few mk1 cars which has increased and has grown as friends & see each other as a family. Trying to make positive difference in our community,be role models to our children & youth. Also trying to change the negative mindset of the community about car clubs, modified cars, their drivers etc. Yes we love car shows, show&shine ,sound-off etc but we want to help those in need through our love we share for cars..........

My 1990 VW Citi Golf has got a 3.6L VR6 engine swap, from a later Passat. In South Africa the Mk1 Golf was produced until 2009 (always with a 4 cylinder engine though).

The VR6 engines there started in the Mk3 Jetta, and are affectionately nicknamed the Vura, and the DSG shift sound in the later Golf Rs is called Vrrrpah, which is a fairly well known term in the car enthusiast world in South Africa πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘β€οΈ
