We’ve got something very special in the workshop… a stunning McLaren 750S undergoing a serious transformation at Cambridge Car Audio. 🔥

Stage 1 – Full Floor Dynamat Soundproofing

With the interior carefully stripped back and the carbon-fibre structure exposed, our experienced team has applied Dynamat throughout the cabin floor, working around the factory wiring, modules and structural sections with absolute precision.

On a car like the 750S, every kilogram and every detail matters. The aim is to reduce unwanted resonance and road noise, creating a more controlled acoustic environment ready for what’s coming next. 🔊

This is only the first stage of the build… and trust us, you’re going to want to follow this one. 👀

That’s a wrap on this BMW X3 sound-proofing project at Cambridge Car Audio.

Across this build, we’ve carefully treated multiple areas of the vehicle to help reduce road noise, tyre noise, vibration, panel resonance and unwanted rattles, creating a noticeably quieter and more refined cabin.

The work included sound treatment to the:

✅ Boot area
✅ Floor
✅ Tailgate trim panel

Using high-quality Skinz sound-deadening materials, every stage was completed with attention to detail before the vehicle was carefully reassembled.

🚗🔇 BMW X3 SOUND PROOFING PROJECT – PART 5: TAILGATE PANEL 🔇🚗

The next stage of this BMW X3 sound-proofing project focuses on the lower tailgate / boot lid trim panel.

With the panel fully removed, we can properly treat the rear of it using Skinz sound-deadening material, helping to reduce unwanted vibration, resonance and rattles from the large plastic trim section.

✅ Helps reduce panel vibration
✅ Minimises unwanted rattles
✅ Improves refinement from the rear of the vehicle
✅ Helps create a quieter cabin
✅ Gives the panel a more solid, substantial feel

This BMW X3 has been receiving extensive sound treatment throughout, including the doors, wheel arches, boot, floor and now the tailgate trim panel.

Custom subwoofer box trimming and finishing for this Porsche Taycan sound system upgrade. We built two bespoke subwoofer enclosures, fitted on either side of the boot for a clean custom installation, powerful bass and improved sound quality. 🔊🚗 BMW X3 PROJECT – PART 4: SKINZ ULTIMATE FLOOR TREATMENT 🚗🔊

The sound treatment continues on our BMW X3 build, and this time we’re focusing on the floor of the vehicle using Skinz Ultimate.

Treating the floor is a major part of creating a quieter and more refined cabin, helping to reduce noise and vibration travelling up from the road and underneath the vehicle.

By installing Skinz Ultimate across the floor area, we’re helping to create a much better acoustic environment before the upgraded audio system is completed.

🔊🚗 BMW X3 PROJECT – PART 3: BOOT SOUND PROOFING 🚗🔊

The next stage of our BMW X3 audio build at Cambridge Car Audio takes us into the boot area, where we’re continuing the sound treatment to create a quieter, more controlled cabin.

The boot floor and surrounding panels are being carefully treated with sound deadening material to help reduce road noise, panel resonance and unwanted vibration entering the vehicle from the rear.

This is especially important when building a high-quality audio system, as reducing background noise allows you to hear more detail, better bass control and improved overall clarity from the finished setup. 🎶🔥

BMW 2 Series sound system upgrade in progress. We removed the factory door card and added professional soundproofing and sound deadening to reduce unwanted vibration, improve speaker performance and create a cleaner, more controlled sound inside the cabin.
