A Journey of Grace & Growth – Ross’s VOYAGE
The next chapter comes in the words of Ross Parrish, who has so kindly shared his personal experiences with VOYAGE Charters—a journey that began in 2011 and blossomed into something far greater than a simple sailing adventure.
Ross’s story is more than a travelogue; it is a testament to how the sea, when combined with faith and fellowship, can strengthen bonds, inspire hearts, and create memories that last a lifetime.
Ross’s Story:
“In 2011 Captain Ross Parrish was running a 46-foot cat of a different make for a marriage enrichment sailing week in the British Virgin Islands started by a group of friends from America. Captain Ross was the skipper and always slept in the crew quarters. He states that “it was cramped, and his feet couldn’t be side-by-side. It was so tight. There was no air conditioning. The boat had two air conditioners, that would often break, and the refrigeration was DC, so we had to charge it every day.”�
While on charters, he states that “he would notice VOYAGE yachts and always was impressed that, at the bare minimum they were 4 feet longer than my boat, which was pretty much above average length for charter cats at the time.”�
A group from the marriage, enrichment organization went to visit with the VOYAGE folks, and we met Jo-Ann and Sarah on the first visit. Capt. Ross stated that they “were so blown away by the boats and were more blown away by their people!”
The next charter season, they moved away from the previous company and booked solely through VOYAGE where they started at about 10 charters per year and grew it year over year bringing on other captains and growing the ministry. That organization still charters, now 25 weeks a year on the VOYAGE 590’s!
