Jonah started with us while he was still in high school, coming in after school, on days off, and whenever he had extra time to help clean up, learn from the guys in the shop, and get a feel for the work.

Over the last year and a half, we have watched him grow a lot.

His attitude has been the same from the start. Always smiling, always willing to help, and always wanting to learn more.

Now he is graduating and coming on full time with the Merchant crew!

The whole Merchant team is proud of you, Jonah. We’re excited to have you here full time.

You’ll be seeing more from Jonah as he takes the next step from apprentice to full-time tech.

Seventy 2 Fast Duramax Tech Update

If you are running in the Seventy 2 Fast class, here is your reminder: 6,000 lbs is a hard number.

You will need to weigh after every pass, and you are responsible for weighing your truck before coming to tech. Best advice: make sure your truck is safely over the line before you roll across the scales. If it starts with a 5, you are getting DQ’d.

No one wants to see that happen, and nobody wants to get made famous for the wrong reason.

There will be a tech meeting Thursday, and the driver’s meeting will be Friday. We’ll be around Thursday getting tech done, so if you have questions, come find us.

We’re looking for a full-time Customer Service & Sales Professional to join our team in Holland, MI.

This role is all about helping customers, building relationships, solving problems, and turning product questions into sales opportunities. If you have customer service experience, sales experience, and a background or interest in diesel, automotive, or performance parts, this could be a great fit.

What we’re looking for:
• Customer service and sales experience
• Diesel, automotive, or performance industry experience preferred
• Strong phone and email communication
• Positive, team-first attitude
• Organized, motivated, and ready to learn

Schedule:
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On-site in Holland, MI

Pay:
$23–$26 per hour

Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO, holidays, and employee discounts.

Some jobs just fight back.

This Duramax came in for up pipes, and once we got into it, things got ugly. Turbo off, broken bolts on the turbo, broken tools, and a good reminder why it’s hard to give an exact price over the phone.

Even after 20+ years of working on Duramax trucks, they can still deal you a rough hand.

Time to clean things up and get ready for the move.

Chet is counting down the days, but there is still a lot to do before we officially make the move to our new shop at 286 Hedcor St, Holland, MI.

For now, we are still open and operating at our current location while we get everything ready behind the scenes.
