This L5P had been in another shop for 4 months. After testing and swapping batteries, cables, ECM, and fuses, the truck still wouldn't crank. Once it was brought to us, Trevor ran some diagnostics. He discovered zero communication between any of the modules.

We dug in and found a hidden wire harness along the frame by the fuel tank. This single grounded out wire in the high speed CAN bus was the reason behind the entire network failing. All the modules began talking to each other again and the truck was able to finally start after Trevor spliced in a new wire.

Always remember how important running diagnostics is for any problem. Save money, time in the long run, and the headache of not being able to find the issue.

If you own an L5P, this Fuel Coolant Pump Relocation Kit from Pacific Performance Engineering is a must have when upgrading your truck. After the oil filter for 2020 and newer Duramax's was redesigned for better performance, PPE came out with this kit to accomodate the space needed underneath the truck.

Along with a newer bracket for relocation of the fuel coolant pump, high quality hoses, clamps, extension electrical harness, and an install guide are also included for a seamless installment.

With 2001-2006 LB7 and LLY trucks especially, transfer case preventative maintenance is super important and valuable to the health of your truck.

As you can tell, even Joe was a bit surprised to see this transfer case in that condition. Remember that proper maintenance can make these failures less common.

We’re proud to present Faith & Family Night at Berlin Raceway on Saturday, August 22!

We have FREE tickets available at Merchant Automotive. Stop by our new location at 286 Hedcor Street in Holland and pick yours up while supplies last.

We’ll also have a booth at the track, so stop by and say hi to the Merchant Automotive team.

Gates open at 4:00 PM and racing starts at 6:30 PM. Kids 15 and under are FREE.

We’ll see you at the track!
