🚨 PSA: Don’t Let This Happen to Your Trailer 🚨
This tire didn’t just go flat—it came apart. Tire failures like this can cause serious damage to your trailer, your cargo, and even create a dangerous situation for everyone else on the road.
One of the biggest mistakes we see is people judging trailer tires by tread alone. Trailer tires often “age out” before they wear out. Heat, UV exposure, sitting for long periods, and heavy loads all take a toll on the rubber, even if the tread still looks good.
A few tips to help avoid a blowout:
• Check the DOT date code on your tires.
• Replace trailer tires every 5-7 years, regardless of tread depth.
• Keep them inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure.
• Inspect for cracks, bulges, or uneven wear before every trip.
• Don’t overload your trailer.
A new set of trailer tires is a whole lot cheaper than repairing body damage, replacing a fender, or dealing with an accident on the side of the highway.
