What's up everyone, I'm slacking again... actually we have been really busy. I'm old school and get focused when I'm working so it's hard for me to remember to (document my day) heck I wanna forget half of them, working on cars some times is a real challenge. I'm ocd so it's always gotta be perfect. Not the best practice to try and make money, but I'd rather have a good product than be rich and unable to sleep at night. Another heater core, God help me, heads on a 6.2 LS Camaro, prepped a classic Nissan Z31 engine block for assembly and installed a newly refinished seat in an old Ford pickup. Enjoy!

Good morning!! I missed a few days, it's been pretty busy at the shop and my phone camera has been acting up but here we go.... 03 Silverado 6.0LS lost oil pressure and chewed up the bearings 🫤.... motor swap time. I always replace the rear main seal and oil pan gasket as it cannot be done with the engine in the truck without a lot of work, and that is money saved for my customers. And as always, cleanliness is important for a good gasket seal. Hopefully it will be done today 🔥

Well, I got the EV Samurai all put back together. Here are some during and after pictures. Test drove the Samurai today and it's a pretty cool little vehicle. It's got a lot of zip!!. Worked on another little project I have and it's amazing to look at the 2. And to think how far the industry has come. It'd be pretty rad to see these 2 in a drag race, I'm thinking the samurai would snap the drive shaft😅. Hope yall enjoy!

Hope everyone has a good weekend from Harpers Auto Repair !!!!

Well, today's update will not be as involved as yesterday's. Do to extenuating circumstances on the pickup that we were trying to finish. However, the Subaru is done and runs excellent. We found a blown fuse for the low speed cooling fans, which most likely contributed to the blown head gaskets that the car suffered to begin with. We got the Turbo Honda in and worked on that as well.

So the chevy colorado runs great after I found the rag that someone left in cylinder number four intake port. Not sure if it was in the manifold. Or deep in the head, but after starting it, the truck ran and had no compression on number four. Used a bore camera and discovered some odd looking material in the cylinder....... Use the little grabber tool and ripped the piece out and determined it was a rag that a previous person left inside there Was very fortunate in that I was able to take the intake back off, remove the rag, blow the cylinders out, reassembled and then the truck ran perfect. No misfires. Customers should be happy we always try to do only what we need to do. But in this situation there was a little bit extra.

Tomorrow will be a fun day as I pull the dash on the EV Samurai..... No doubt if uncle Rix Parling reads that he's going to have a heart attack.

Anyways, hope everyone had a great day and as always if there is anything we can do to help you with your cars. Just give us a call!!!!

Now it's off to twenty nine palms to meet a customer at Stater Brothers to perform a vehicle inspection for her to make sure she is buying a good car that is not full of problems.

What's up? Hope everybody had a good day, It's been a while since we posted. And i'm going to try to keep it updated more often. Worked on a 2005 Chevy. Colorado 2.84 cylinder that was taken apart. And the timing was unable to be set correctly. They brought it in. We took it apart removed all the excess silicone, which was pretty obnoxious, cleaned everything up and got the majority of it reassembled today, we'll wrap up tomorrow.

We also got the heads back on the Subaru. And the motor in the car ready to be fired up tomorrow as well.

And last but not at least a little sneak peek of work to come. This is an interesting little samurai that showed up that we'll be putting a heater core in. Also looking at a 1951 automatic transmission out of a pontiac, Should be interesting getting into this and transferring some needed parts to another one for repair.

We hope you enjoy checking out some of these repair pictures. And want you to remember that if you need any kind of automotive repairs, we are here to help at Harpers Auto in Yucca
