2006 Northern Bay 36' Hardtop

SUMMER WIND is a handsome 2006 Northern Bay Hardtop Cruiser, built by Stacey Raymond (General Marine, Inc, in Biddeford, ME) and her interior finished by a talented custom builder of homes as well as Whiting Marine who oversaw all the mechanical and electrical systems.

This vessel is powered with a 500 hp Cummins with only 675 hours offering cruising speeds of 18 knots.

She has a bow thruster, generator, air conditioning, separate shower and queen berth forward with all the features that a cruising couple desires, as well as a large, spacious cockpit for fishing.

1981 Ellis 28' Custom Softtop "Picnic" Cruiser

ROGUE is a spectacular “picnic” cruiser, originally built by Ellis Boat Company, and then completely rebuilt by a well-known builder in Newburyport, MA.

Her present owner has used her lightly since he purchased her in 2021. She will he presented as one of three Gray & Gray Yacht's show boats.

MAJOR STRUCTURAL REFIT AND RELAUNCHED IN 2000 BY THOMAS TOWNSEND CUSTOM WOODWORKING, MYSTIC, CT (A MASTER WOODEN BOATBUILDER WHO OWNED THIS PENBO)

The Penbo designs are recognized for blending traditional Maine boatbuilding with comfortable coastal cruising capabilty.

SCARLET carries some interesting history. She was once owned by Tom Townsend himself and earlier served as the tender to the America's Cup challenger Nefertiti, when she went by the name King Tut III.

Power comes from a Crusader 305 gas V8 installed in 2005. The gasoline engine provides a smooth and relatively quiet ride compared with many traditional diesel installations.

A steadying sail on the mast helps reduce roll while underway, and the solar panel provides enough electrical independence for extended time away from the dock. Heavy duty davits are also installed for tender.

This Penbo has even received attention in Wooden Boat Magazine, appearing in issues 161 and 269.

Designer Carl Lane was a respected Maine Boat designer associated with Penobscot Boat Works in Rockport, Maine, builder of the well-known Penbo series of trawler style cruising boats during the 1960's and early 1970's.

Working with his son, Bob Lane, he developed a line of practical cruising yachts inspired by Maine commercial work boats, emphasizing seaworthy hull forms, economical operation, and simple, functional layouts.

Penbo gained a reputation for their solid wooden construction and dependable performance, and many remain in service today as Classic Downeast Cruisers.

AQUILA

AQUILA is the most handsome 43' Sparkman & Stephens K/CB Yawls, built to the highest standards by Tore Holm in Sweden in 1957.

Her present owner first purchased her in 1977 when she was located in Greece. He cruised her through the Mediterranean and then sailed her across to the West Indies before returning to Maine.

He sold her in 1982 after several more trips to the Caribbean. In 2014, he purchase her for the second time, and has since made several trips to Cuba and the Bahamas.

Presently he has Captained and chartered her out of Brooklin, Maine. She is truly an iconic, Classic S&S Yawl, built to the highest standards of a double planked mahogany hull, copper riveted, and with many upgrades as listed on our website.

She is well outfitted and ready to continue coastal or offshore cruising. Please come and inspect this outstanding pedigree yawl.

EEMIAN is a 1983 Baltic 38DP classic cruiser-racer sloop designed by naval architect, Doug Peterson in 1982. Built for both off-shore racing, comfortable cruising and for the adventurous ocean crosser. There were 55 built. Among other Baltics, they are described in a coffee table book as"World's Best Sailboats." While "best" is subjective and depends on how a boat will be used, Baltic consistently sets the industry standard for custom, high-end builds.

EEMIAN has been mainly used for coastal cruising in the North East during the summers, for at least 30 years.  She is a three owner boat, who has been meticulously maintained by the same reputable boatyard in Marion, MA for each owner.

The current owner has done major upgrades, totaling ~$200,000 in 2020 and 2023, the latter to make her ocean ready. They sailed her to the Caribbean (via Bermuda) in 2023 and back in 2024 and considered sailing her to Europe next year. However, their plans have now changed and they are hoping for a quick sale by this Fall. 

She is very attractively priced. Her 2023 survey has her valued well above the asking price and surveyor observed her to be in above average condition. The boat is currently in the water in Marion Harbor, and easy launch ride away.  We thank you for your interest and look forward to getting you aboard this fine sailing vessel.
