BAPS Auto Paints & Supply R.F. Berkheimer & Sons originated in 1961 as a painting contractor that targeted commercial, industrial, and residential business. Raymond F.

BAPS’ mission is to provide customer service to the coatings industry through integrity, knowledge, and quality of products, while supporting the community and developing its employees to their greatest potential. Berkheimer, being principal owner had two of his children working for him, Ray W. and Robert Berkheimer. In 1966 they decided to incorporate, and each own one third, equal shares. In 1977 Raymond retired, leaving his sons the opportunity to purchase his share of the corporation and continue on with the family business. After twelve years of experience, and knowing the physical labor involved in this broad spectrum of the painting business, Ray and Robert started to consider a new avenue of business. Automotive paint was suggested, and Ray and Robert then contacted PPG Industries. PPG then researched RF Berkheimer & Sons and was impressed with the credibility of the company and wanted to invest their products in them, to become a PPG distributor. In February 1979, the York location of BAPS Auto Paint & Supply was originated. That day the phone did ring, once, for one quart of paint to go to Quigley Motor Company in Manchester. Within a few years the automotive paint industry had really started to develop for them, which allowed them to expand and open a Lemoyne location in July 1985, to service the greater Hbg. area, and also a Chamb. location in March 1993. BAPS services customers in a one-hundred mile radius in over ten counties.

What happens at Manager Extravaganza… well, some things might have to stay at the beach house! 😂

We had an awesome weekend with our BAPS managers filled with a little learning, a lot of laughs, and plenty of good food!

Friday was all about learning and development. We spent most of the day with our tech rep, Joe Frizzell, learning all about color matching. Joe shared some great tips and tricks that will help our managers better assist their teams and, most importantly, better serve our customers. Thank you Joe! We also had some great training and reminders from our HR team. Thanks Heather!

After a full day of meetings, it was time to switch gears and head to Captain George’s for some ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT seafood. Because apparently training works up an appetite! 😂🦀

Saturday morning started with a homemade breakfast at the beach house, followed by everyone splitting off for their own adventures. The ladies spent the day plant shopping and getting some puppy therapy at puppy yoga, while the boys headed to the shooting range. Definitely two very different versions of a Saturday! 😂

Then it was back to the beach house for burgers, hot dogs, drinks, laughs, and just hanging out together.

It was such a great weekend and a much-needed break from the day-to-day grind. We learned a lot, (including that an ocean stick is real, see pic😂) laughed A LOT, made some great memories, and got to spend time together outside of the stores.

We appreciate everything our managers do day in and day out to keep BAPS moving forward. We may have gone into the weekend as coworkers… but we definitely left with a few more inside jokes and some great memories! ❤️
