I have been given the opportunity to go in front of the county commissioners, on Monday Feb 7th, in Cascade to discuss the maintenance and grooming of Johnson Creek Road, into Yellow Pine, for winter and snowmachine access. As many know, we currently plow the full road out to Wapiti Meadows Ranch, and the incoming groomers must stop just before the Wapiti bridge. This has created some "not so ideal" conditions for snow machine travel and recreation to/from town on the, approximate, 9 mile section of the road between Wapiti and Yellow Pine. I have spoken to EVERY resident who lives on Johnson Creek, and they are ALL unanimously in favor of accepting a proposal for grooming a path/portion/lane of Johnson Creek Road, all the way into town. With the understanding that the adjacent lane to the groomed path will be sufficiently maintained for safe passage, and adequate turnouts where possible, for 4 wheel vehicles to get to their properties and transfer station on Johnson Creek.
Residents on Johnson Creek have sent me emails of support, in favor of this project. I would like to ask the community, and friends/family of our community, if you could be so kind as to chime in and send me a brief email of support so that I can include them, for the record, with my presentation to the commissioners. I thank you all for your time and consideration on this.
