~ NOT permanently closed!

Well it has been a little while since we've posted or given any updates as to what in the world we are up too since leaving the Yarmouth location last year. Rest assured we are still alive and breathing and will be sharing some big news shortly. Since leaving Yarmouth we packed up and moved to a small shop in Pownal and one in Bath to do various things. In the Pownal shop we did various small woodworking projects. And in the Bath shop we focused on design, lofting, mold/pattern making and model carving the way my Great Grandfather William Frost designed his boats. We will be posting more photos of the past projects as time allows. Photo by a secret admirer

M/V Harpoon- As we pack up the old shop and move out we took down Harpoons temporary shelter. It's been a while since we have seen here in her entirety from a distance. I should note we stopped working on her last October. When she came in for work her original keel had been replaced some years ago. It was not a quality repair by any means. When she arrived she slumped on the bow and stearn several inches in her length. We slowly removed most of that and brought her as close as we could to her original lines. We refastened 90% of her hull, replaced all keel bolts, new stem and forefoot(fore gripe). We cut down the keel and reconfigured to be more like the original with new shaftlog, jib piece, horntimber and sternpost. We reframed her stern except for the header(only good piece left), new stern deck framing and washrail covering. We replace 24 full length rib frames in the aft, and 6 in the bow, we installed 50 short sister rib frames in between. 6 new floor timbers. Also a new stern knee. We've replace 8 planks in the stern and new garboard planks port and starboard. So with all that said this is the first chance we've had to look at the job from afar. Wish she was painted up and ready to splash, but that will come soon enough.

With a saddened heart I would like to announce the passing of my mother Lorelei H.B. Lowell. After nearly 28 years apart she and my father have been reunited. Most of her adult life she suffered from severe physical handicaps and now she is in pain no more.
