VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ROTARY & LITTLE LEAGUE SERVICE PROJECT

Yakima Rotary will be teaming up with Yakima Little League for a one-day beautification project to get the baseball fields at Elks Park ready for opening day. The Parker Youth Sports Board will also be joining us for this effort.

TIME: Saturday, March 21. 9am finishing around 2pm but you are welcome to come when you can and stay as long as you’re able.

SUGGESTED LIST OF ITEMS TO BRING:
Yard and cleanup tools
Rakes – such as leaf, metal, leveling, landscaping
Shovels – both flat and round
Wheelbarrows
Pitchforks
W**d eaters and hand w**ders
Hedge trimmers, Loppers/Pruners
Tamper/hand compactors
Buckets for moving dirt
Garden hoses with sprayers
Power tools – battery drills/Impact Drivers, circular saws, etc.
Extension cords
Leaf blowers
Pressure washers
Work gloves, safety glasses, closed toe shoes
Large trash cans

What a great way to serve our community.

Repair Café Yakima will add a bicycle clinic to their repair day on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yakima Maker Space, 16 N. 1st Street.
Besides the usual repairing of clocks, lamp, broken zippers, and w**d whackers, the volunteers will focus on fixing bicycles and teaching those attending how to deal with flat tires, rusty chains and other simple repair needs.
Joining RCY in this clinic is the Yakima Kiwanis Club’s Free Bicycles 4 Kids group that repairs and donates bicycles throughout the Yakima area.
Patch kits and tire levers will be given out to the first 20 bicycle owners showing up.
