Also, another job I just finished re- wiring. A really cool '33 Chrysler vintage racecar.
This car has a history of racing at Sunny-Grand speedway, a dirt track that used to be located between Sunnyside and Grandview in the lower valley. and was rescued from years of sitting in a wheat field near Bickleton, WA
Now it sports a 354 Hemi, Torqueflight trans, original Chrysler headlights, and lot of cool era correct add ons to make it street legal. Awesome car!

Just completed work on these two customer cars.
1968 Chevelle Malibu, I changed out the dash surround with a new one. This beauty sports a 350 crate engine, TH350, disc brakes and Vintage Air Heat/AC.
The 1954 Jeep Willys 4wd PU got a complete re-wire using a Painless 21 circuit harness with cloth leaving. It runs a 151 Iron Duke 4cyl with upgrade manal trans.

Just finished re-wiring this rare beauty. 1960 Ford 1/2 ton 4wd, fresh Y-Block V-8 with fuel injection. Nice truck!

I did some major changes on the blower/carburetor on my '55 (1st series) GMC truck.

First off, I am no carburetor "guru"

Today's Coffee & Chrome meet was it's maiden voyage with the new changes.

The changes were changing the blower pulley ratio from 17% underdriven to a true 1 to 1 ratio. This change increased the boost from 1.5 lbs boost at 4k rpm to 3 to 4 lbs at 4k rpm.

With that change I had to increase the CFM of the carburetor. I was running a 500 CFM Holley 2bbl and went to a 650 CFM Holley mechanical secondary 4bbl.

I had read about "boost referencing" the Holley power valve so it can read vacuum/boost UNDER the blower instead of just vacuum ABOVE the blower. That requires drilling a precise hole in the side of the carburetor and installing a tube that will go to manifold, and blocking the former vacuum port to the power valve.

Made me nervous drilling into a new carb but I got it! (Thank you LORD for YouTube videos!

This morning, the truck ran just ok (with way more power) but engine idle would drop too low at stop lights and it died a couple of times. When I got back to the shop I adjusted float levels, idle mixture screws and idle speed setting. After another test drive I NAILED IT. SHE RUNS, IDLES, AND ACCELERATES GREAT!
