🚨🚨🚨 PSA Incoming…. 🚨🚨🚨

After sharing that last post, it really got me thinking…
I should formally apologize for not posting this sooner, but after multiple people reaching out over the last few weeks, I should clear the air. I regret to inform everyone that we will be skipping the Rally for this year…

As most of you know, due to unforeseen circumstances, I have been a “one man band” for over 6 months now. Typically we start organizing the Rally in February, well, Feb turned into March and March into April. April into May. By then it was just too late to pull it all together. With the stress of everything already, I just couldn’t make the time to sit down and get things done. I’m sorry. I have come to realize that the Rally has become an annual staple in our community. A lot more people have reached out asking about it than I expected. THANK YOU ALL for that! It makes me feel like all the work and effort does not go unnoticed! The Rally has become a passion of mine and Todd’s over the years. I hope that the message has opened people’s eyes to the dangers we all face while working roadside every day. It’s not just me. It’s not just Todd. It’s not just the people and trucks you meet and see at the Rally, there are thousands and thousands of us out there every day nationwide….

We know the dangers. We signed up for this. But with the technology advancements over the years, the cell phones and tablets that have become another extension of our bodies, the Dangers continue to increase….. Hell, just the changes in society overall have affected our jobs. Patience and respect for one another are all but extinct. Any simple inconvenience to our daily routines and schedules seems to just light a fire within us. We are all guilty of it. But today, another young man lost his life while working roadside…

I don’t know the details. I haven’t read the report. And honestly it won’t change the results… But my heart breaks for his family and friends and coworkers. I am so sorry for y’all’s loss.. I was around that age when I began my career in this industry. I think back to those days and how different it has become.

Maybe if I had sucked it up and put in the effort this year, we could educate another person or persons to prevent another accident like this. All we have to do is open one more set of eyes to make it all worth it… I started 103 T&R with the intentions of making a difference. The Rally is one of those marks. I promise we will regroup and be ready for next June, no matter what. We have to do our part to Spread Awareness. I apologize for missing this year and letting y’all down… But it won’t happen again… one way or another, Wytheville’s SlowDown MoveOver Rally will return for 2026!

Thank You to everyone for supporting us over the years!!!

And PLEASE remember to SlowDown and MoveOver for ALL Flashing Lights!
