Big news for North Dallas RV owners. 📋🚐

We just put 65 dedicated RV and boat storage facilities across the North Dallas metro to the test, scoring each one on reviews and reputation, storage type and facility quality, amenities, and security. The results are in, and we're proud to say Carefree locations captured two of the top three spots. Our Saint Paul yard scored a 98 for #2, and our Wylie yard scored a 93 for #3. Rounding out the podium at #1 is our sister company, Wylie Bargain Storage & RV/Boat.

Whether you're shopping for storage or just curious how the market stacks up, our full breakdown covers the top 10, our scoring methodology, and a look at the rest of the field.

Our new blog post covers how to prep your RV for long-term storage in Wylie: cleaning and moisture control, handling fluids and the battery, draining the water system, and choosing between uncovered, covered, or fully enclosed parking.

Those aren't bubbles. Those are hail dents — and that's one of the milder outcomes after a DFW hailstorm.

Most people pick RV storage based on monthly price. That math ignores the $3,000–$15,000 in damage a single storm can cause, and the steady depreciation that happens between storms.

We ran the actual numbers for the DFW market. On any vehicle worth more than $45,600, enclosed storage costs less per year than covered once you factor in depreciation savings. That crossover point is lower here than almost anywhere else in the country, because DFW sits at the center of Hail Alley.

We broke it all down by vehicle type, storage option, and depreciation rate:

DFW sits in Hail Alley. See the exact vehicle value where enclosed RV storage costs less than covered -- including real rates from Carefree in Wylie, TX.
