We’re keeping the left side, because high-performance sedans are plenty of fun to drive without sacrificing practicality. 😌

What ties these four together is that each one is a combination its own manufacturer only built once, and every one of them went into a family sedan.

The E39 is the only M5 that ever got a naturally aspirated V8, and you couldn’t order it with an automatic. The GS300 is a rear-wheel-drive Lexus sedan with a 2JZ, so you get a quiet, comfortable interior and a huge 2JZ aftermarket catalog to pull parts from.

The Galant VR-4 is where Mitsubishi first put the turbocharged 4G63 together with all-wheel drive, and that exact combination carried into the first Lancer Evolution.

The B5 is the only S4 that came with the 2.7L twin-turbo V6, running through Audi’s Quattro All-Wheel Drive System.

The Mazdaspeed6 is one of the most underrated cars Mazda ever built. 🏎️💨

Mazda only sold it here for the 2006 and 2007 model years, right when the WRX STI and Evo had everyone’s attention, and from the outside it barely looked different from the base model. Every one left the factory with a six-speed manual, which tells you exactly who Mazda built it for.

Nearly 20 years later, joey’s Mazdaspeed6 shows how good these cars look when someone puts real work into one, from a spotless engine bay to the bronze Work Emotion T7Rs that make a nice contrast against the red paint.

Out of all four, we’re putting the Enkei RPF1 on this Type R. 👀

Enkei’s MAT process keeps the RPF1 light and tough enough to handle years of abuse on the street or the track. The RPF1 also came out in 2002, right as the DC2 was wrapping up production, so the wheel looks period correct on this car.

Graphite spokes over red Brembos on Boost Blue is one of the better color combos you’ll see on an FK8, and at 18x9.5 +35mm the set sits flush at the fender instead of hiding under the bodywork.

Some weekends stick with you, and Formula Drift’s return to Las Vegas was one of them. It was the series’ first time back in 14 years, and High Stakes was worth the wait. 🏎️💨

A chopper light sweeping the rooftop. Then it dropped out of the sky. A minute later, smoke was coming off the RPD. The FD didn’t stick around.

Swipe for the night before the outbreak. Same rooftop, same rain, same car. Albert’s FD on BBS RS, sitting exactly how it sat when it carried the package out.

Sway bars are one of the best bang for your buck upgrades you can make. 🏎️

For the money, very few parts change how your car handles as much. You'll notice it the first corner you take, when the car stays flat instead of leaning through the turn.

Last car out of Raccoon City. 🔥

The streets are empty, the skyline’s burning, and the one package everybody’s after is riding in the back of a yellow FD RX-7. Bryan had the route. We had the better car.

Albert’s FD is sitting on a set of BBS RS, tucked right where it should be. If you’re going to be the last car out, it might as well be this one. Not a bad way to save the world.

Shoutout to a.s jr for hanging out with us, and more importantly thanks to our friends from PRIME for helping us find Albert on such short notice.
