Happy Birthday to one half of Down to Detail!

If you know Matthew, you know he’s usually somewhere in the shop obsessing over paint, perfecting the smallest details, or finding something else that “just needs one more pass.” 😂

A lot of what Down to Detail has become wouldn’t be possible without the time, work, and passion he puts into it.

24 years old. Only 40,000 miles. And absolutely worth preserving..

This Audi TT ALMS Edition came to us already in great shape, but years of small dents, scratches, and stubborn water spotting had started to take away from just how special this car is.

Through paintless dent repair and targeted paint correction, we were able to dramatically improve the finish while keeping the original paint intact. A one-step correction handled the vertical surfaces, while the hood and roof received a more intensive three-step correction.

This is exactly why paint correction and PDR can be so valuable for your pride and joy. You don’t need to wait until a vehicle looks “bad” to give it attention. Years of small imperfections slowly add up, and addressing them can completely change how you feel about a car you already love.

Black paint looks incredible… when it looks like this.

But keeping it that way is the hard part.

You'd never guess what this Honda Civic had been through.

A few unwanted furry guests had made themselves at home, and they didn't exactly leave the place spotless.

This wasn't a quick vacuum and wipe down. We performed a full interior detail with complete carpet and upholstery extraction to deep clean the cabin, then finished it off with a full exterior detail to get the entire vehicle looking its best again.

Looking at it now, you'd never know what had been hiding inside.

Sometimes the biggest difference isn't the shine you see on the outside, it's knowing what's been cleaned on the inside!

Some scratches tell a story. This one almost ended with a $3,000 repaint.

This brand new 2026 Yukon came to us after someone keyed the entire passenger side from front to back. The owner's first stop was a body shop, where they were quoted over $3,000 to repaint the entire side.

Instead, we spent hours meticulously wet sanding the damaged area, carefully leveling the scratch inch by inch before refining and polishing the finish. It's a slow, tedious process that leaves very little room for error, but when done correctly, it can produce incredible results while preserving the factory paint.

The end result wasn't factory new, but it was substantially better than where it started, and enough to save the owner thousands by avoiding a repaint. When they saw it, they couldn't believe the transformation.

Not every scratch can be repaired this way, but before committing to a repaint, it's always worth having it professionally evaluated. You might be surprised by what's possible!

Some vehicles don't need to be restored. They just need to be preserved.

This diesel Ford Excursion is one of those vehicles you just don't see very often anymore, especially one that's been cared for this well. We've had the opportunity to detail it before, and it's always a pleasure to have it back in the shop.

The goal wasn't to make it look like a different vehicle. It was to preserve everything the owner has worked so hard to maintain and get it ready for its next car show.
We gave it a thorough detail to safely clean, refresh, and enhance the finish while keeping its originality intact.

Sometimes detailing isn't about bringing something back. It's about keeping it there!

We had an incredible turnout and loved seeing such a great mix of Audis, meeting new faces, and catching up with familiar ones. Events like these are what make the car community so special, and we're grateful to have been able to host another great morning!
