Big delivery day here at Boot2bonnet đź‘€

We’ve just received a full sea container packed with 1275 core engines—ready to be torn down, rebuilt, and brought back to life for our customers.

This is a huge step in keeping quality A-series engines on the road and making sure we can continue supporting the Mini community with properly rebuilt power units.

We’ll be rebuilding many of these in-house, but we’ll also be listing a selection on our website for anyone looking to take on a rebuild themselves.

Whether you want a turnkey engine or a solid core to start your own project—we’ve got you covered.

Stay tuned as we start going through them 🔧

Big milestone for us — we officially have the keys to our new shop 🔑

This is something we’ve been working toward for a long time, and we’re excited to finally start making the space our own and building it into something special for our customers and the Mini community.

A huge thank you to Tim Schimmel .realestate for guiding us through the process, and to Dale Pedroia and Family for entrusting us to take this property into its next chapter.

We’ve got a lot of work ahead, and we can’t wait to share the progress with you all.

We’ve got something really special to share.

After years of building Boot2bonnet, working out of tight spaces, and growing this with all of your support—we’ve officially purchased our own building.

This is something we’ve been working toward for a long time. Late nights, long days, figuring things out as we went… and now we finally have a place to call our own.

For us, this isn’t just a building—it’s the future of Boot2bonnet.

What it means for you:
• We’ll be taking on client cars again starting April 13
• We’re building out a full parts department for those working on their own Minis
• More space means better workflow, more capacity, and better service overall

We’ll start moving in April 6 and we’re excited to bring you along for the process.

We truly wouldn’t be here without the people who have trusted us, supported us, and stopped by the shop over the years.

If you’ve been waiting to get your Mini in with us—your time is coming.

Our next metal working project is off to the media blaster. This race car rolled on it side and slid roof first into a concrete wall. Thankfully the driver is ok, and we can save the car. It Recieved a new LH fender and inner wing along with a new nose panel. The LH quarter panel was metalworked back into shape before the replacement roof was put on.

We filmed most of the work so let us know if you would like to see a video.

It is with a very heavy heart that I share that a member of our Boot2bonnet family passed away this Monday.

He wasn’t just part of the team — he was truly an extended member of our family and a driving force in the shop. His passion, drive, and willingness to share what we do with anyone who walked through the door made a lasting impact on all of us. If you ever stopped by the shop, chances are he was happy to talk Minis, show you a project, or explain what we were working on.

Russell Pfeifle took pride in the work, cared deeply about our customers, and helped shape the spirit of Boot2bonnet in ways that can’t be replaced. He will be deeply missed.

His memorial service will be held Saturday February 21st

Visitation: noon-1pm
Funeral at 1 pm followed by Luncheon

Lutheran Church
1114 College St, Woodland, CA 95695

The service is open to all who knew him.

Thank you for your continued support and for keeping his family — and our team — in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Had to set this gearbox out in the sun before packing it up to ship off to for an upcoming build video. This started off as a greasy core unit the we stripped and tumbled clean as a base for his next build.

When your parts cars need a new friend. Facebook marketplace to the rescue. The seller said it needs floors, but after cleaning it, the floors are better than most of the car I fix, now to decide do I cut the roof off this car or another one for a customer project?

The 62 car is done and going back to .racine to be put together and back on the track.
