First call of the year!
Monday afternoon Capay Valley Fire and Yocha Dehe Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle blocking the roadway in the area of Highway 16 and County Road 79.

The tractor/trailer had become stuck in the mud off of the roadway, with the trailer blocking both lanes, requiring a tow and creating a pretty significant traffic hazard. Luckily the driver was not injured, and there was room for vehicles to pull around the back of the truck.

Yocha Dehe Fire had traffic control established when Capay Valley arrived on scene, and we quickly relieved them, asking that they keep an ear out for additional calls as our resources would be tied up for a while waiting on a tow truck. Great cooperative effort, and great job by CITIZENS TOWING AND IMPOUND on getting this rig out of the ditch!
