Most GM owners have no idea how connected modern vehicles really are.

In this video, I show where the telematics/OnStar components are located, how the system works, and what features may be affected if the module loses power.

This is educational information every GM truck owner should know before changing anything on their vehicle.

Modern Vehicles Are Tracking You? The Truth About OnStar, Ford & Uconnect Systems

Most drivers have no idea how connected modern vehicles really are. From GM OnStar to Ford connected systems and Ram/Dodge/Jeep Uconnect, modern vehicles collect far more data than most owners realize.

In this video I break down how these telematics systems work, the privacy concerns behind connected vehicles, and why some owners choose to disconnect these systems completely.

Do connected vehicle systems help owners… or have modern vehicles gone too far with data collection?

Your GM vehicle may be sharing more than you think.

In this video, I talk about the GM telematics / OnStar unit, the privacy concerns with connected vehicles, and why owners should understand what data their vehicle can collect.

We tried an Amazon Auto Start Stop adapter on our 2020 Kia Soul EX "Champagne Bubbles" so you don't have to.

The problem? It didn't work.

Before you spend money on one of these devices, watch this video. I show the installation, what happened, and a simple trick that actually helps reduce Auto Start Stop activation during stop-and-go driving.

Have you found a permanent solution for Auto Start Stop systems? Let me know in the comments.

Installing a 2 inch leveling kit on Big Red, but these two tricks can save your strut.

I show the grade 8 washer trick for clearance and why re-clocking the strut matters before everything goes back together.

Small suspension mistakes can turn into damaged parts, bad fitment, and alignment problems later.

Your Silverado’s stock upper control arms were NOT designed for lift kits or leveling kits.

Once suspension geometry changes, the factory control arms and ball joints start operating at dangerous angles that can cause premature wear, alignment problems, poor handling, and future suspension damage.

On Project Big Red, we’re fixing the suspension the RIGHT way with upgraded upper control arms designed for lifted trucks. I explain why this upgrade matters, what happens if you ignore it, and how proper suspension geometry protects your truck long-term.

If you’re planning a lift or leveling kit on your GM truck, this is information you need before buying parts.

Today we remember the men and women who paid the ultimate price so we could enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

Freedom isn’t free — and because of their sacrifice, we get to live our lives, build our dreams, work on our projects, and spend time with family and friends.

Whether you're turning wrenches in the garage, cruising back roads, or firing up an old project car today, take a moment to remember the heroes who never made it home.

From Bad Wrench Automotive — thank you to all who served, and especially to those who gave everything for this country. 🇺🇸

Stay safe this Memorial Day.
It’s just nuts and bolts, and I’ll see you on the next one.

Most people replace front struts and NEVER think about the alignment problems caused by worn suspension parts.

In this video, I break down the differences between older GM torsion bar suspension and newer GM front strut setups, why I avoid coil-over conversions on heavy GM trucks, and how to properly replace front struts without damaging components.

I also explain why your truck will NOT drive correctly if you skip the alignment afterward — especially if the old alignment was done with worn-out parts.

I show:
✔ Full strut removal
✔ Tie rod end removal
✔ Every mounting bolt location
✔ Why both struts should be replaced together
✔ Why tire wear and pulling issues happen after suspension repairs

This is real-world mechanic advice designed to help truck owners avoid expensive mistakes and poor handling issues.

DON’T just yank on your Silverado wheel liners. In today’s Big Red project video, I show every bolt, push clip, and hidden wiring harness attached to the front wheel liners on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. I also explain how to safely remove the liners without cracking them or damaging the wiring.

One wrong pull can break mounting tabs, clips, or electrical connectors fast. If you’re removing headlights, bumpers, suspension parts, or installing LEDs, this is information you need before starting.
