🎒 SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE — DELIVERY UPDATE! 🎒
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Fernald Field Dragway community, all of the items collected during July's School Supply Drive officially made their way into the hands of local schools and organizations on Friday, August 21st!🥳

We were able to deliver dozens of fully stocked backpacks, plus an entire tote filled specifically with supplies for middle school students! 📚✏️🖍️

🎒 Each backpack was packed with:
📚 1 full supply pouch
📓 2 one-subject notebooks
📔 1 composition notebook
📁 1 folder
⚪️ 1 bottle of liquid glue
💧 1 reusable water bottle
🧼 1 package of Clorox or hand-sanitizing wipes

✏️ And inside each supply pouch:
✏️ 12 pencils
✏️ 1 pencil sharpener
✏️ Pencil eraser caps
🔴 2 pink erasers
⚪️ 2 glue sticks
✂️ 1 pair of scissors
🖊️ Colored pencils
🎨 Markers
🖍️ Crayons

To every single person or business (such as our friends at Bangor Auto & Truck Center Inc and Milestone Funeral Partners) who donated—whether you dropped off a backpack, purchased supplies or simply helped us spread the word—THANK YOU! :-)

This was truly a community effort, and because of you, local students will begin their school year with new supplies of their very own and one less thing for their families to worry about.

Sending a huge shoutout to Mik McCue (pictured below) & Bryanna Parker for volunteering their time to help sort supplies, stuff backpacks, organize donations per school, and make deliveries with Crystal. We couldn't have done this without you! 💙

Fernald Field Dragway may be a place where we come together because of our love for drag racing, but moments like these are exactly why we created FFD's Racing for a Reason Community Giving Calendar. Our community reaches far beyond the starting line, and we're incredibly proud of what we can accomplish when we all come together for a reason. 🤝

Out of respect for our racers, families, and spectators who travel from near and far to join us, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel both Saturday (Nostalgia Series/Swap Meet/Gamblers & Lil' Gamblers/Test & Tune) and Sunday’s (Points Series #11 & Darling's No Time Race) racing programs at Fernald Field Dragway this weekend.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature simply doesn’t look like she intends to cooperate, and we want to give everyone as much advance notice as possible rather than have you make the trip only to be disappointed.

The only event that will still take place at Fernald Field Dragway this weekend is Marcel Busque’s Remembrance Gathering. On Sunday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM, we will gather under the tent in front of the flagpole for coffee and pastries, to share memories of Marcel, and install a memorial plaque in his honor. ❤️

While we’re disappointed to lose a weekend of racing to the weather, we appreciate everyone’s understanding—and especially those who make the long trip to support Fernald Field Dragway.

We’ll see you back at Maine’s House of Hook next weekend!😊

🏁 WHEELS UP WEDNESDAY & ANTI-RAIN DANCES! ☀️💃🌧️

While we enjoy Trackshot’s awesome photos from last Sunday, we have a very important assignment for the entire FFD community today…📝

We see those showers trying to creep into the weekend forecast, so it’s officially time to break out your best anti-rain dances! 💃🕺☀️

Think sunshine. Manifest dry pavement. Wash those cars TODAY and get it out of Mother Nature’s system. And whatever you do, send those rain clouds anywhere but Winterport! 😂

In the meantime, enjoy a little Wheels Up Wednesday action from last weekend and help us remind Mother Nature that we have racing to do! 🏁

After an incredible Thin Tin Takeover weekend, we’re getting right back to our regularly scheduled Points Series program this Sunday at Fernald Field Dragway!

The season is moving FAST, the points are getting tighter, and every round matters! Who’s ready to chase those win lights?! 👀🏆

What a weekend! We’re still riding the high from an incredible first-ever Thin Tin Takeover at Fernald Field Dragway!

The rain is gone, the sun is shining, and the Thin Tin Takeover is in full swing at Fernald Field Dragway!

🔥 Flatheads are racing down the track!
🚘 The Car Show is in full swing!
🛍️ Swap Meet vendors are selling!
🎶 And Butterscotch Sock Hop will begin playing at 5:30 PM!

There’s still plenty of time to come join the fun! Grab the family, check out some incredible rides, hunt for a treasure at the Swap Meet, enjoy the racing, and stick around to dance the evening away!
