Nostalgia Friday! 1969 and 1970 Jaguar XKE's, a 1963 Porsche 356B, and a 1978 Fiat 124 Spyder. All in the shop at the same time.

We are filling up quickly with those getting ready to travel for Christmas. Don't wait until the last minute. Call and get on the schedule ASAP as space will be more and more limited the closer we get to Christmas.

We offer only the best in one of the most overlooked parts on your car, wiper blades. We stock Bosch wiper blades for most European makes, and what we don't have, we can get next day worst case.

Road construction going on right now in front of the shop. Half of the entry driveway is closed. Use caution when entering or you can use our rear entrance on Executive Rd. They tell us it will be paved tonight, so hopefully it is over quick.

Safe to say we have received a few inches over the last few days. Little Lake Empire is at capacity. With the current road construction on Dundee Rd. beginning last week, our drainage issues should be resolved soon. The engineers for the 4 lane project have assured us that the fix is in the plans. Now if we can just get them to give us a westbound turn lane...

Check out this 2015 CLA that was driven into a puddle that caused the engine to stall. With the amount of water in the engine that was discovered, most shops would abandon the original motor and force the owner into a very pricey engine replacement. We went the extra steps to investigate deeper and found that due to low engine speed and the starter fuses at the junction box being submerged in water, the engines integrity was uncompromised, and saved our customer THOUSANDS!

Scott was able to replace the junction box starter fuses, remove the spark plugs, and allow the engines compression to force the water out. He then removed the intercooler and charge pipes(see pics in comments), and sucked the remaining water out of the induction system. Changed the oil and filter 3 times to remove moisture from the crankcase, and dried all the affected electronics thoroughly.

Because Scott went the extra mile, he cost our customer only $600 to salvage what could have been a financial catastrophe. Had the vehicle back on the road in 3 days as opposed to a several week long engine job. We are very grateful to have Scott in our Empire family and glad he shares our principles of putting our customers first, and always ahead of the almighty dollar.

2nd annual Empire Chain Cruise this past Monday. Quick trip around the south chain, followed by dinner at Harborside. Fortunately, nobody got wet this year! Great times and great company with the Empire family!

Don't feel safe leaving the house? We have added additional services to keep you safe, and your vehicle in working order without ever leaving the comfort of your home! In addition to our touchless customer drop off and pickup at the shop, we are now offering FREE touchless vehicle pickup and drop off within a 10 mile radius. We will sanitize your vehicle at your home at pickup and again when we drop off your completed vehicle to your home. If a loaner vehicle is needed and available, we will drop you off a sanitized loaner in exchange for your vehicle.

Give us a call to schedule a pickup if needed. We are here for all of your import vehicle needs. Our hours remain normal and we will be open for normal business tomorrow(Good Friday) as well.

Here is a rundown of our vehicle sanitization process. Every vehicle is sanitized on drop off and prior to pickup at our last contact with the vehicle. Please refer to our previous post for our new processes and procedures to ensure the safety of our customers, staff, and their families.

YES, WE ARE OPEN!

COVID-19:
In response to the spreading virus, we have made some changes to our procedures which are pertinent to the safety of our customers, employees, vendors, and their families. These changes are as follows.

Drop off/Check-in: We ask that all customers park their vehicles in a parking space and call the shop to check in. You will leave your keys in the vehicle, and we will take it from there.

Sanitization: We, upon checking in your vehicle, will sanitize the vehicle prior to our technicians entering. Once all repairs are complete and the vehicle has been road tested, we again will sanitize your vehicle and keys, then establish a pick up plan with the customer.

Digital communications: While you can always pick up a phone and call us, while your vehicle is in service you can use our digital inspection messaging to reach out to us at any time. You will also receive your digital inspection results and access to your digital dashboard to keep you in tune with repairs along the way.

Payment: We are requesting credit/debit card or Bosch credit card payments preferably, however checks will be accepted with matching drivers license if needed. Credit card payments will be handled via telephone communications.

Pickup: Each customer can communicate a pick up which works for them. Everyone is different, and we will work with each individual to ensure the safety of all parties.

Due to these policy changes, we request that you phone or message us to set up an appointment, as the front office will be closed to customers until this virus has passed. Parts sales also need to be called in and pick up of parts will be handled the same as pickup of a vehicle.

We hope that all of our customers, employees, vendors, and their families remain safe in these trying times. We will continue to adapt and stay on the front foot in limiting the spread of COVID-19, while at the same time, taking care of your automotive needs.

Look for our Courtesy Cars around town and give them a honk. These vehicles are available 1st come, 1st serve upon request at no cost for customers who need transportation while we repair or service your vehicle. We also offer shuttle service if these vehicles are not available.
Let us know during scheduling if you need ride arrangements or a loaner vehicle, and we will be more than happy to assist with transportation.

New or old, we service them all. Rico taking care of engine transplant on an '85 Land Cruiser. We can even offer a 3 year warranty on a rebuilt engine for a 35 year old vehicle! Hopefully the warranty will never be needed, but it is a plus for our customers leaving knowing they have coverage should anything happen.

Remanufactured engine replacement of a 5.0L V8 Land Rover. Began what we thought was a head gasket replacement, and found a crack in the cylinder wall of cylinder 3. Customer opted for the remanufactured option which comes with a 3 years warranty on parts and labor. In the unfortunate case that an engine is needed, we offer multiple warranty and engine options to meet your cost requirements and needs.

As a shop, we have most all specialty and diagnostic tools to cover most all repairs on your European vehicle.
These hidden costs are a part of the job and a must to keep up with modern automotive technologies. We do charge to diagnose your vehicle, but you will find our diagnoses is spot on, and repairs are carried out efficiently with care for your vehicle as if it were our own. Always remember, "skilled labor isn't cheap, and cheap labor isn't skilled" in this very "get what you pay for" industry.
