"It's just a bulb." That's true. There is just a bulb that has stopped working and the bulb is only a few bucks. Now let's discuss getting to that bulb... Say WHAT!? Ever wonder what made a simple bulb replacement so expensive. Well, this isn't even one of the harder ones to get to, but it's not just pop one out and another in either.

Not a lot of pictures today but one good one to show what happens when you get cars that other people have "worked on". This poor car had someone remove this fuel pump and destroy it putting it back in the tank. 2 wires were broken that powered up the pump and the wire arm and float for the fuel sending unit were MIA. The upper and lower portions of the main body were separated and dysfunctional. It wasn't a hard fix once we found out why the car wouldn't start. We love a challenge 🤪.

In case you have been wandering why it's so hard to get me on the phone... I've been busy and cant get to the phone. Keep trying and I'll get it eventually. Sorry for the inconvenience but this has to get done and the timing has to be set correctly or it'll total the engine. You can't walk away from this stuff.

Well folks, here we are. The clients aren't the only ones who have car trouble. While we were coming back from lunch my 2007 Ridgeline lost power and made me a little nervous about driving it back so we parked and started walking. (A special thanks to the fine folks who had mercy and stopped to give us a ride back to the shop).
I knew my timing belt and oil pump reseal was overdue and suspected the timing had jumped and caused the power loss. When I got it all apart I discovered 2 things. The timing was still correct so that wasn't the problem. Well... since I'm already here, I may as well complete this job. That means I have to remove a portion of the exhaust. This is where the problem presented the evidence. The catalytic converter had come apart and clogged up the 3rd converter which explains the power loss. If an engine can't exhale, it can't perform properly. Next job was to replace the converter on bank 1. ( there's another one on bank 2 but we didn't need it just yet).
Now my car is back on the road after a lot of work on my off time. It's not the end of the world, but it was definitely inconvenient. All is well in my world now though. Hope this makes you giggle just a little.... and that's ok if you do. I am.

July 28th! What is special about July 28th? That is the day Brett was born. He was a special little boy who grew to the ripe old age of 8 1/2. He would be turning 26 on July 28th if he was still here with us. In his remembrance Brett's Imports will be closed tomorrow for his birthday. We hope this doesn't present any problems for anyone but we still want to honor this little one who was the first to call me daddy and Lorie mommy. Hope you have a magnificent day and be blessed in the name of the Lord.

This Wednesday Brett's Imports will be closed for a funeral. We will open that morning but leave by 10:30 and return after the service is over. (No set time for that, sorry.) We apologize for any inconvenience this may present but it can't be helped. Duty and responsibility is our calling. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
