So today is my 2nd knee surgery.... and I'm so happy the day has finally come. Righty is doing great, Lefty is very angry with the added activity and he needs to be replaced.
So due to the above, I'm not going to be posting regularly for awhile. And obviously I will not be available at the shop. So if the Guys look like they're running around in circles more than usual, it's my fault.
I wish you all a Terrific Taco Tuesday! I'll be back before you know it!! -Deb

Once upon a time, Merle Snider Motors was the Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Dealership in town. Along about 1986 or 87 Merle aquired the rest of the GM franchises from Bodkins Motors: Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, and GMC.

And along with this major purchase, Merle Snider's aquired six of the Hooligans in this 1976 Bodkin's Ad. And I proudly worked with them!

I was so excited to see this add posted on the FB page of Winfield's 150 Celebration and beyond, I requested a copy!! And the Kraus's emailed it to me!

I know it is dark and I'm working on lighting it up but I coudn't wait to share!!!

I love going down memory lane!!! ~Deb

Merle Snider Motors, Inc. was very grateful to be voted as Best of Cowley County Winner for Independent Auto Repair facility and Favorite Oil change facility for 2026. It is such an honor! Thank you Cowley County!

I'm very proud of our guys. They work hard to take care of our customers, our friends....with very little grumbling 😉. The grumbling is mostly about the heat or when the part ordered doesn't fit, or it's so hot in the shop, or a vehicle just doesn't play fair, or the stinkin' crazy heat.... you get the picture.

But that Favorite Oil facility pretty much is because of our L**e Tech Richard Weller.

Just about the best thing you can do for your vehicles is have the Oil changed regularly. And at our shop, that includes replacing the oil filter, testing your coolant and check tire pressures; checking accessible fluid levels, topping them off if necessary; perform a visual inspection and check belts, hoses, tires, filters and more. Richard even tops off your windshield washer fluid! If he sees any issues, he notes them on the invoice. He's a great guy to work with too!

For "What's It Wednesday?" I present to you a Bug.

With our doors always open, lots of critters cross our threshold. And you add in the Car Grill Vs Bug Collisions, there is a never ending supply for my Bug Loving heart. Yes, most have passed, but I have rescue many over the years.

Our tech, Damian Weller brought me this awesome guy for my collection.

So, what type of Beetle is this? And don't you think he needs a name?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Which side are you? I do love all the Gadgets but I'm not the Technician.

Meet Jasper my Tuxedo cat. He was suppose to be our Shop cat, but long story short, he lives with me now.

Jasper was named after the company we have being doing business with at least 30 years, Jasper Engines and Transmissions. Our shop foreman Alex Phelps gave that goofy cat his name and it fits!

Jasper's Remanufactured Engines and Transmissions have been very successful for us. They carry a 3 year or 100,000 warranty and offer a very reasonably priced extended warranty.

Over the years we have had very few problems, but if we do, Jasper (not the cat) takes care of our customers.
I know, replacing an engine or transmission are big ticket items, but sometimes it is more cost effective to do so.

Just let us know if need a quote. Oh and please share your pet photos in the comments, Jasper, the cat, would love that!
