There's a kind of know-how that only comes from decades under the hood, and Hope Town could use it.

We're looking for an experienced mechanic to help care for our Hope On Wheels fleet on a part time, as needed basis. These vehicles carry neighbors in recovery to appointments, meetings, and jobs across Portage County, so keeping them running well is quiet but meaningful work. This is a good fit for someone retired who still wants to put their skills to use without a full schedule.

We’re grateful to share that the Hope on Wheels Auto Clinic is now reopened and back in service.

Over the past week, the shop was closed while new epoxy flooring was installed — an upgrade that will help us maintain a cleaner, safer, and more durable workspace for both the vehicles we service and the people who work in and visit the garage each day.

This investment in the space is part of our continued commitment to doing this work with care, consistency, and respect for the people we serve.

Thank you to everyone for your patience during the closure and for continuing to support Hope on Wheels. We’re glad to welcome the community back into the shop.

We’re excited to share that the Hope on Wheels Auto Clinic will be getting an upgrade later this month.

From March 25 through March 30, the garage will be closed while a new epoxy floor is installed in the shop. This improvement will help create a cleaner, safer, and more durable workspace for the vehicles and people we serve every day.

We’ll begin preparing the garage and moving equipment on March 23 so everything is ready when the work begins.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to invest in the space that supports this work, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while the upgrade is completed.

Please note that the clinic will not be providing any services during this time.

Thank you for continuing to support Hope on Wheels. We look forward to welcoming everyone back into the shop soon.

We’re excited to welcome Bill to the Hope Town team.
Bill brings decades of hands-on experience as a mechanic, a US veteran, along with a steady, thoughtful approach to his work. He’s someone who takes pride in doing things the right way—paying attention to details, caring for the people he serves, and keeping safety and reliability front and center.
Behind the scenes, our garage has been getting some renewed energy, and having Bill on board is an important part of that. We’re grateful to have his skill, leadership, and calm presence as we continue strengthening the practical supports that help our community move forward—literally and figuratively.
